Authorities in Tulsa, Oklahoma are looking for the person responsible for a dog that was left abandoned with its ears glued down and legs strapped together.

According to a Facebook post by the Humane Society of Tulsa, the dog named Atlas was found with both back legs strapped together and unable to move from the field that he was dumped into.

“Not only was he dumped in a field with his back legs STRAPPED together, GLUE (yes glue) had been poured into his ears and then fast food wrappers had been shoved into the ears and stuck into the glue. One ear canal is so bad it looks like he will need surgery,” the post said.

An unnamed chemical had been dumped on his face/ears and it appears his ears have been partially burned or cut off.

X-rays performed on the dog showed a BB bullet lodged inside of him, the post wrote.

“From the moment we met him, he wasn’t mean, vicious or protectively aggressive. He just wanted help and warmed up to us as he realized we were there to help.”

The Humane Society of Tulsa says that the dog is recovering and resting comfortably.

An arrest has been made in connection with a dog found abandoned in an Oklahoma field with glue in his ears, its back legs strapped together and shot with a BB gun.

Officials with the Humane Society of Tulsa said Tuesday they were contacted by the Creek County Sheriff’s Office that a person has been arrested in connection with the abuse of the dog, now named Atlas.

Atlas was rescued after being found in the field in Creek County. According to officials with the Humane Society, glue had been poured into the dog’s ears and fast food wrappers had also been shoved into his ears, sticking to the glue.

Officials said some type of chemical had been dumped on the dog’s face and ears, and it appears his ears were partially burned or cut off. The dog’s X-rays showed a BB gun pellet lodged inside him, so he’d been shot at with a BB gun, too.

Atlas is now being cared for by doctors at VCA Woodland Central Animal Hospital. He will soon have a forever home. Officials with the Humane Society told KJRH that they’ve had dozens of applications to adopt him, and they have settled on a family that they think will be great for him.

Atlas will go to his new home on Thursday.

Creek County Sheriff’s Office officials have not released information regarding the person arrested.

Atlas has a wonderful family now and has two beautiful brothers that he gets along with great. He waits patiently with them for his treats.

However, not all journeys are without bumps in the road. Mommy reports that we are still working on manners with little Atlas. He truly thinks he should sit ON the table at dinner time. He can be kinda sneaky with his table time too. Creeping up on top of the table in a split second when no one is watching. “But Mom, I like hamburgers.....”

It should warm your heart as it does ours that this boy who went through so much and touched so many of us is really living the life he deserves!!!
