A three-legged dog in California has a new home and a new chance at life.
The dog's story inspired his new owner to welcome another dog into her home.
In November, a homeless woman found the terrier-dachshund mix in pretty bad shape and one of her legs was missing. She put the dog in her bike and rushed it to an animal shelter.
Kathy Ferguson saw the story, which reminded her a bit of her situation. Kathy is a cancer survivor who had just lost her husband.
"I certainly didn't lose a limb and she didn't have cancer, but we both had to overcome some pretty severe obstacles to get on with our lives," she said. "I am going to spend the rest of my days making her days what they should be, because she deserves it."
