Fox station KOKH in Oklahoma City reported that Richard Engle, 61, of Harrah went to Starbucks in Edmond with his wife on Sunday evening.

Police said his wife asked staff members for a refund on a drink she purchased recently for $1.25, but she was denied the refund and was told to call the corporate office.

The woman then walked out of the store, only to have her husband, Engle, return.

Engle was also denied a refund on his wife’s behalf, police said, and when one of the employees turned their back on him, he took money from the tip jar on the counter.

According to police, Engle was able to grab one dollar from the jar.

Why would anybody think that you could get a refund on something you bought recently, with likely no receipt, and no evidence of there being anything wrong with it. No business would issue a refund like that.

As for him grabbing the tip jar, well go for it, I think it's ludicrous that the people who buy coffee there are helping the rich owners pay their workers.

And yes I realize that in some states, wait staff are only paid about $2 an hour, I'm not talking about them, I'm talking about Starbucks, they are not wait staff, they are technically fast food workers who get paid, at least, minimum wage, but I know Starbucks pays more.
