A horrific video showing a group of men beating kangaroos to death has been discovered by police.

The video captured two incidents of animal cruelty, thought to have occurred in Western Australia, in May and June, during which a pair of kangaroos were bashed with knuckle dusters and stabbed in the head and neck.

One of the animals was also reportedly set on fire.

'It's graphic, it's disturbing, it's cowardly. In my 17 years of policing it's one of the most disturbing things I've seen hands down,' Senior Constable Paul Giuffre told 9News.

The videos were discovered on a Perth man's phone after he was arrested on an unrelated matter.

Police are asking the public for help to try and identify three men seen in the footage, who they believe may be able to assist them with their investigation.

The three men are between 20-30 years of age, fair skinned, and medium to solid builds. The first man has dark facial hair, was wearing a black beanie with a white emblem on the front, and a black hooded top.

The second has short brown hair, is clean shaven and was wearing a black hooded top. While the third man has facial hair and was wearing a dark coloured top with an emblem on the front.

A man has been sentenced to 11 months in jail after he was found guilty of tormenting and killing a kangaroo, in an incident that’s been dubbed as ‘sadistic’.

Dylan Leslie Griffin appeared in Joondalup Magistrate’s Court, in Joondalup, 26km north of Perth's central business district, and pleaded guilty to attacking the animal with knuckle dusters before shooting it in the eye, in a brutal beating that took place last year.

The 22-year-old was sentenced to 11 months behind bars, meaning he could be eligible for parole in just six months.

He is the third man to be charged over the violent bashing of the innocent animal, with Magistrate Gregory Benn describing Griffin’s involvement as ‘whole-hearted, gleeful and sadistic’.

A fourth member of the mob allegedly involved in the kangaroo’s murder is set to appear in court in July.

It’s believed the incident is part of some sort of group initiation, with all the men having some kind of involvement in Outlaws Motorcycle Club, according to ABC News.

Handing down the sentence, Magistrate Benn noted that an instant jail sentence was ‘necessary’ and would act as a deterrent for Griffin and other wannabe gang members.

Many of Griffin’s supporters had attended the court proceedings in order to hear the outcome of his hearing.
