NM Parents Arrested After 6-Week-Old Infant Is Admitted To Hospital With Broken Ribs

The Lea County Sheriff’s Office released a statement that on Wednesday, March 11, that the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Covenant Hospital regarding a six-week-old infant who had been brought in with multiple broken ribs.

Due to the severity of the injuries, the infant was transferred to a hospital in Lubbock for advanced medical care. Lea County’s Criminal Investigations Division then initiated an investigation into the circumstances involved in the infant’s injuries.

During the investigation, investigators identified the infant’s parents, identified as Tyler Janousek and Trenaty Lewis, as suspects in the case. Further medical evaluation revealed that the infant had sustained approximately 29 fractures, both new and old. Medical professionals determined the injuries to be highly specific to violent and recurrent abusive trauma.

According to the statement, the infant was placed into protective custody and placed in the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department while continuing to receive medical treatment.

Janousek has been charged with three counts of Abuse of a Child, which is a first degree felony. Lewis has been charged with three counts of Accessory to wit Abandonment or Abuse of a Child, which is also a first degree felony.

grrrrrrrrrrrrr that is not abuse it is TORTURE grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr poor wee on 29 fractures both new and old and only 6 weeks old at the rate they were going that wee one wouldn't have see 6 months old grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... why oh why didn't they just leave that wee one in the hospital or surrender him the first time that they hurt him and again no questions asked grrrrrrrrrrrr they knew they had no love or patience to take care of a wee one grrrrrrrrrrrrr way too many child abuse going on that now that save havens are all over the place should never happen never not even one .......... their is no shame admitting that you are taken a responsibility that you aren't prepared for and love your child enough to give him/her up to someone that is waiting with aching hearts and arms to get filled...........
