An investigation is underway after a newborn baby was found dead in a trash bag on Thursday afternoon in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, according to police.

The discovery was made near the intersection of 69th Street and Patterson Avenue in Upper Darby Township.

Authorities say the baby was found dead next to a trash can.

"Two witnesses told us that they were walking down here to go to the store and they saw what they believed was an infant. Detectives have arrived on scene and it is confirmed that it is the body of a newborn," said Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt with the Upper Darby Police Department.

I know PA isn’t Texas, but I still can’t help but wonder if we will see more situations like this if the rest of the country follows Texas’s lead with deeply restricting abortion (while also making it harder to get birth control by shutting down Planned Parenthood and other clinics). Forcing a woman to give birth against her will doesn’t seem like it will end well most of the time. We’ve seen enough child murders and horrific child abuse cases on Dreamin’ Demon to know that some people really, REALLY shouldn’t be parents. Throw in a sense of resentment (”Damn them for forcing me to do this against my will!”) and it seems like a recipe for abandonment, though they’d hopefully choose to abandon their newborns in public places.
