Mother & Then Boyfriend Arrested After Her 7MO "Fell Off The Couch"

An indictment states Kirsten Durham, 23, and then-boyfriend Johnathan Durbin, 32, wantonly caused the death of her 7-month-old baby.

The baby’s father says his son was with the couple when he fell off the couch while the couple was asleep.

He says he tried to get his son away from them, but he was too late.

Both suspects have been taken into custody. They are charged with manslaughter and criminal abuse second degree.

I've got two boys, as all of you who've been here more than 5 minutes know, they fell off of numerous things, and never once did it kill them. A fall off the couch is not nice, they might get a bump on their head or a black eye, but it doesn't generally kill them unless there's something else going on. Something like having a large amount of help in falling, or he fell off of something much higher than a couch or he was thrown or slammed against the wall.
