State Police were called to a home at Lanark, W.Va., Feb. 28 where twin 2-year-olds were unresponsive. The twins had died. Trooper Christian Harvey with the West Virginia State Police said since then, investigators had learned the two toddlers died after ingesting fentanyl and several other drugs.

“Upon arriving to the scene, the two juveniles were already deceased,” said Harvey. “From a thorough investigation, Olivia Moore has been placed under arrest for child neglect causing death, times two.”
Moore, 30, is the mother of the two babies. They were found unresponsive on a couch in February, and an investigation into their deaths revealed both died of the overdose while they were under their mother’s care.

“After we received the death certificates, it showed several controlled substances in their system and from her statement they were in the care of Olivia Moore at that time,” he said.

Moore was arrested Tuesday and was lodged in Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond.

It's reckless enough to kill one toddler via negligence. To kill two is even more despicable. That is now two more entire valuable lives prematurely cancelled due to uncaring from a source that needed to give the most care.

No matter what she does in life, she can't take these deaths back.

Moore was originally interviewed by a trooper at the WVSP Beckley Detachment while the scene was being processed. During which, she said that the twins had been in her care all day and appeared to be acting strange at approximately 2 a.m., but they were still alive at that time.

The death certificates received by the investigating trooper showed that the twins had ethanol and fentanyl intoxication, as well as carfentanil, acetylfentanyl, lidocane, quinine, and diphenhydramine in their systems.
