This investigation is still in its early stages and ongoing at this time. The mother of the 6 month old child found sealed in a black bag at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Tryon, NC on Friday March 27th 2020 has been charged with Misdemeanor Child Abuse/Endangerment/Neglect. An extensive investigation is still ongoing.

The mother of the 6 month old child is Heather Lynn Walsh of Ken Miller Road Rutherfordton, NC. Due to the nature of the injuries the child had sustained, an initial warrant for Child Abuse/Endangerment/Neglect was obtained by Investigators on Friday March 27th. Walsh was given a $5,000.00 Secure Bond by the Magistrate and released upon making bond shortly after noon today, Saturday March 28, 2020.

when you seal a 6mo baby in a black bag, what do you think will happen? anybody would have known the baby would die from, you know, lack of oxygen pretty quickly. She needs to be charged with attempted murder, because if she had done this to a vulnerable adult she would have been.
 
It wasn’t a newborn...don’t typically see them getting bagged and dumped til after they’re dead. No way in hell thats not attempted murder

Hypothesis: she and/or boyfriend beat/shook the baby. She wanted the baby to get medical care, but she didn't want to go to jail and/or was protecting her dumbass boyfriend. So they took the baby and put it where they knew it would be found and/or die without being traced back to them... Or so they thought.

Someone found the child in a church parking lot in Tryon on March 27.

Authorities charged Joshua Hardin with attempted first-degree murder, kidnapping and breaking and entering.

An update on Baby Isabella. Sheriff Wright and the investigators who responded to Isabella when she was found at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Tryon in March were able to visit with Baby Isabella this past week and are excited to report that she is alert, happy, and doing well with her foster family.
Isabella's foster family would like to thank Pastor Tom Olsen, the Trinity Lutheran Church , and all of the emergency responders for the quick actions that led to Isabella's recovery and for the gifts they provided last week.
