A Springfield Township woman has been arrested after her 3-month-old daughter was found with a blood alcohol level of 0.359%.
Springfield Township police arrested Davonna J. Reed, 32, and charged her with child endangering and obstructing justice, both felonies.
Police said the charges stem after Reed’s daughter was ill and brought to Akron Children’s Hospital in late October. Doctors determined the baby had a blood alcohol level of 0.359%, police said. The child was treated in the natal intensive care unit and then later released under the supervision of Summit County Children Services, police said in a news release.
Springfield Township police said detectives believe Reed endangered the child by allowing her to ingest alcohol. Detectives also said Reed attempted to obstruct their investigation.
