Mother Arrested After 3MO Baby Had High Levels Of Meth, Cocaine In System

According to the affidavit, during an Oct. 31 home visit, social workers saw “white crystal-like particles consistent with methamphetamine on the living room table, a car seat and a baby tub that had a pillow and blankets.”

Michelle Moore reportedly told the social workers she did not have a bed or a primary care physician for the baby.

Detective Madison Dobbs said the social workers expressed their concerns about the baby’s safety with Moore and requested a drug screening.

After Moore tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine, a 72-hour hold was placed on her and the baby, Dobbs said.

Police were called, according to the document, when Moore refused to hand over the baby.

The infant was taken to a children’s clinic and a hair follicle sample was taken for testing.

“The results came back positive with high levels for amphetamine, methamphetamine, benzoylecgonine and cocaine,” Dobbs said.
