Police say an arrest warrant was served on 22-year-old Anthony Monroe Paige on Monday in connection to the death of a 2-month-old child.
According to police, the incident happened back on Oct. 2 around 10 a.m. MPD says emergency services were called to a home on Couch Street for a report of a 2-month-old that wasn't breathing.
MPD says the 2-month-old victim lived with his mother, aunt, two other children, and the mother's boyfriend, who was identified by police as Paige.
Police say Paige and the child's aunt were the only adults at the home at the time of the incident, as the child's mother was at work.
The baby was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead on Oct. 5.
Police say an autopsy determined the child's manner of death was a homicide. The report noted brain and optic nerve hemorrhages, blood in the ear, and bruising on the back of the child's head.
Records show Paige is being charged with Murder - Domestic Violence.
