Stacey Laura-Louise Castleman and Erik Aleister Castleman were taken into custody last month and charged with multiple counts of abuse or neglect of a child as well as endangering the welfare of a child, court records show.

"Officers saw feces smashed into the carpet, smeared on the walls, and on the furniture," the document states. "The feces were varying colors, indicating some had been there for a significant amount of time."
Rotting food allegedly filled the kitchen where the sink overflowed with dirty dishes and dried liquid spills covered the floor. A lidless trash bin in the center of the room was said to be "overflowing" with dirty diapers.
On the second floor, police said they found the bedrooms of three more kids, all of whom were between ages 3 and 8. The children all allegedly slept on bare mattresses that were brown due to a combination of dirt and feces.

"The floors of each room had toys and clothing sitting in the feces," the affidavit states. "Officers looked in the bathroom on this floor and found it was filthy. There was human feces and human urine on the floor, overflowing the toilet, in the bathtub, and in a bucket that was lined with a plastic bag."
Police said all three kids were filthy, were infested with lice, and walked around the feces-filled home in bare feet.

An officer in the home said he overheard Stacey Castleman telling a Division of Family Services worker to "just take the foster kids," adding, "obviously it's too much for me to handle."

Stacey Castleman allegedly told police the home was in disarray "due to it being the holiday season" before stating that she wanted to "give all the kids up."

According to a probable cause statement, when officers entered the home, they immediately noticed a strong smell of urine and feces.

Their boots stuck to the floor as they began walking through the residence. It was smashed into the carpet, smeared on the walls and furniture.
The statement revealed that a toilet and bathtub had feces in and on them. Multiple children’s mattresses were brown from feces and dirt.

The document also revealed that in another bathroom there was human feces and urine on the floor, overflowing in the toilet, in the bathtub and in a bucket lined with a plastic bag.
All four children were found in dirty clothing, barefoot and walking through feces and urine on the floor. The bottoms of their feet were black from dirt. One of the children told officers they had not washed themselves in about a week.

All of the children also had lice.
A child between the ages of 1 and 3 was found in a bouncer in the kitchen, and a puddle of urine was under the bouncer.

When the child was lifted, a large amount of liquid poured from their diaper onto the floor. It was sagging from the amount of waste in it. The officers saw what appeared to be an aggressive diaper rash on the child’s legs.
Stacey Castleman told officers she did not know the last time the child’s diaper had been changed. Paramedics estimated the rash had been present for about four to five days.

Oh Dear!! I have never won any housekeeping awards, but then again, the health department has never been at my door! This “woman” is a Foster Parent!! Oh my, those poor children!! She tells the agents to “just take the Foster Children!” NO NO!! I understand things get messy, but that description is just totally unacceptable and absolutely disgusting and unsanitary!! When raw sewage is on the floors and in the bathtub, that’s not livable property, premises Condemned!! No child should live there!! They owe the social services money as they were not providing a liiveable place to live! How nasty!!

but then was cas doing it's job? come on didn't they ever visited the children in that foster home?? if they did how do they justify leaving those kids there?? i don't think they owe sca anything more like what ever money they received as foster parents and also the salary of their social worker and his/her supervisor should be given in trust to those children.... they are the ones that suffered due to the negligence of c.a.s and the foster "parents" .. i know when i was fostering (teens and yes they could talk to their social worker anytime) one of their workers would make a home visit anytime during a month , sometimes notified but mostly not) they would look all over the house including bedrooms (except ours of course lol)

I'm not anything near being a good house keeper, even now, when I live by myself, but when there were kids in the house, absolutely not. There was always at least one garbage can overflowing, laundry to do, dishes to wash, food to cook. But I worked a full time job and spent most of rest of my day running a taxi service to get my boys to their sports or cub scouts or school functions, I was not lazy, just had no time.

There was never shit on the walls or floor, nobody had lice and they always went to school clean and I spent every weekend cleaning.

There's messy and then there's this, these people simply did not care, how does anyone let a baby sit in a wet and shitty diaper so long that pee pooling on the floor under them. I think these folks are the worst I can remember hearing about, at least, this week anyway.

Wow, it's rare for the written word to cause me to lose my appetite but here we are. I cannot imagine how not-give-a-shit someone has to arrive at to let themselves live in this level of filth. They need to burn this house to the ground. And the line "Just take all the kids" made me gasp.

Running Fawn, so true! The agency that should have been overseeing them sure didn’t do that!! All of the described unsanitary conditions didn’t just happen overnight! How people can allow their children to live like that?? You know they didn’t feed the children either You are right any money should go for the children’s benefit as the agency assigned to oversee them didn’t do their job either!
