A 5-year-old girl was found with serious neck and face injuries in a wooded area in the Village of Thompsonville on April 20, following a welfare check by the Benzie County Sheriff’s Office. Her mother, 40-year-old Christina Kay Crow, was arrested at the scene.
The Benzie County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to Lincoln Avenue in the Village of Thompsonville on April 20, 2026, to check on the wellbeing of Christina Kay Crow at her residence.
During the investigation, deputies became concerned about the whereabouts and well-being of Crow’s daughter. Law enforcement located the child in a wooded area behind the residence approximately 1.5 hours after the initial response.
The injured child was transported to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was later transferred to Devos Children’s Hospital in Grand Rapids for further specialized treatment.
