A Mebane family has identified 3-year-old Hunter Hatch as the little boy who was killed in an accidental shooting.
Continue readingAround 7:55 p.m. on Wednesday night, Mebane officers came to the intersection of West Lee Street and South First Street after getting a report of shots fired. At the scene, police found Hunter inside a car with a critical injury and a gun. He was taken to the hospital and died that night.
Investigators say that the gun went off accidentally inside the car. The gun was unsecured.
Hunter will be remembered as a charming little boy with a beautiful head of blond hair. His family described him as a funny and energetic, yet mischievous, little boy.
