Staveion Durham was riding a motorized scooter near the intersection of Riverview and Switzer on the evening of October 12 when he ran out of gas and saw a vehicle crash into another vehicle at that intersection
Staveoin pulled a 25-year-old man from the crashed vehicle, and when he did, the man pulled a gun on Staveion. At that time, Staveion’s girlfriend and friend had arrived to take him to get gas.
Staveion’s friend help subdue the man who pulled the gun on Staveion and took that gun, but the man from the crash had a second gun.

Why would you shoot someone who was helping you?? If this info is correct, just kill him, he is a waste of space.

Read the article, the cops say it's self defense, have not even arrested/charged the murderer.

Bizarre fucking story. Either this dude was white and these are some trash ass cops, or this news article is lacking IMMENSE details on what actually went down here.

This case is perplexing! The way the article is written, the victim—Staveion—sounds innocent. This is how I interpret it: Staveion pulled a man out of a crashed car. His friend arrived to take him to get gas. The car crash guy pulled a gun on Staveion, and Staveion’s friend grabbed that gun. The car crash guy pulled out a second gun (!!!) and so the friend started shooting at him. The two exchanged gunfire and the friend fled the scene. The car crash guy then shot and killed Staveion.

I don’t see how the car crash guy can be considered innocent. He pulled the gun first, so how can he be claiming self defense? Staveion’s friend DID start shooting first, but only after the car crash guy pulled two guns on him.

He is either white or there HAS to be wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more to the story

I had to pull several parts of the story from different news articles to get atleast, an idea of what happened. Earlier on the day of the accident, there was a shootout from the ppl inside the crashed vehicle & Staveion/his friends. They recognized the car from the earlier shootout. Staveion & his friend ran over to the car crash. As Staveion was pulling man out of crashed car, Staveions friend pulled a gun & started firing, prompting the crash victim to pull out his gun. Staveion was caught in the cross fire. Staveion friend/crew, LEFT THE SCENE & FLED as Staveion died at the scene
. I dont think this was a case of an innocent person simply helping a crash victim.

"Police learned Durham and the 25-year-old got into a shootout with an unidentified man who they had got into an accident with."

"Police would not confirm Tuesday how many vehicles were involved or the nature of the reported shootout, saying only that the men in another vehicle involved in the shooting left the scene."

"Staveion’s friend started shooting at the man pulled from the vehicle and the two exchanged gunfire. Staveion’s friend fled the scene and the man who Staveion pulled from the vehicle turned and shot him."

By the way the articles are written, it seems as if the media is attempting too gas light this case in order to cause more division/problems. It shouldn't take reading 3-5 articles to get more of a complete story.

clears it up, sounds like all involved are/were scumbags

Shoulda left the piece of shit in there to die. Hindsights 20/20 I guess.
Wait, just reread article and saw that he wasnt much of a victim himself. What he actually should have done is set the car on fire and hop in the backseat so they can both be terminated.

It's been a long time, but there were a couple of incidences of good Samaritans shot when trying to help accident victims, and they were total strangers.
