"Anthony Robinson, 28, had traveled from Brooklyn to spend the holiday weekend with his 7-year-old girl, who lives in the Bronx with her mother. The unsuspecting pair was holding hands and strolling along E. 170th St. shortly before 6 p.m. when a dark sedan rolled up slowly, and a passenger leaned out and started shooting as the father and daughter crossed Sheridan St. in Mount Eden."

"Video shows the victim, who was shot in the chest, falling to the ground, as young Khloe lets go of her daddy’s hand and dashes down the street to safety.
Cops said the gunman in the car squeezed off four shots. Miraculously, none of them hit the little girl, or anyone else."

"The victim in the caught-on-camera driveby, writhed in pain on the ground before he stopped moving, the disturbing video shows.
Medics rushed Robinson to Bronx Care Health System, the former Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing."

I'm going with targeted. Probably the kid's mom.
Possible. He wasn't in his own neighborhood, he was visiting for the weekend, so it would have to be someone who knew where he would be.
Gang initiation
Also possible, since it would explain his being shot while not in his own area, if it was a random "kill someone" shooting.

Three suspected gang members were arrested Thursday in the slaying of a Bronx father who was gunned down in a retaliatory hit while walking with his 6-year-old daughter, police sources said.

The suspects, 21-year-old Davon Delks, Laquan Heyward, 25, and Devon Vines, 27, — alleged members of the“Sev-O” gang — were charged with murder in the July 5 drive-by shooting of 29-year-old Anthony Robinson.

The victim was walking hand-in-hand with his daughter when he was killed in the broad-daylight attack as he crossed Sheridan Avenue near East 170th Street.

Harrowing surveillance footage captured the killing, showing a shooter stick a handgun out the passenger window of a dark sedan and open fire, striking Robinson in the chest.

As Robinson crumpled, his terrified daughter took off running down Sheridan Avenue, apparently unharmed.

Police sources said investigators are probing whether Robinson was slain in retaliation for a nearby shooting the night before. The circumstances of that shooting weren’t immediately clear.

Investigators believe Robinson’s killing touched off a third shooting just hours later that left two more men dead and another wounded, the sources said.

In that incident, two gunmen fatally blasted Joel Baba, 22, and Eghosa Imafidon, 23, in the hallway of an apartment building four blocks from where Robinson was killed. The third victim was shot in the arm.

Detectives believe Baba was one of five people in the car used in the drive-by shooting that killed Robinson, the sources said.

The fifth suspect in Robinson’s murder is still being sought, the sources said.

Delks, Heyward and Vines were among 12 members of the Sev-O gang — an offshoot of the Bloods — indicted on conspiracy charges in November 2016 in the Bronx.

The crew was accused of carrying out four shootings on rival gangbangers, three robberies and swindling more than $200,000 using fraudulent checks deposited into ATM machines, Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark has said.

While police had been probing the possible connection between Robinson’s murder and the killing of Baba and Imafidon, a friend of all three victims struggled to find a link when interviewed by The Post.

The woman, Crystal Ramos, 34, had said that to her knowledge, Robinson was not acquainted with the other two victims.
