LYNN HAVEN — A Bay County woman has been arrested after authorities determined she had not been truthful about how a 2-year-old in her care sustained a skull fracture, according to official reports.
Jocelyn Datina Jones, 24, appeared in court Tuesday in connection with the case. The Lynn Haven Police Department arrested her after hospital staff and child care investigators reported concerns that a 2-year-old boy had been subjected to physical abuse. Jones has been charged with child neglect with great bodily harm and was conditionally released in the case, court records stated.
LHPD reported the child has a history of injuries that he could not have inflicted upon himself. A child dependency case had been opened in February, and Jones has been court ordered to not have contact with the child without oversight. In the most recent incident, the boy sustained a fractured skull and brain bleeding, officials reported.
