A lawyer for disgraced Texas megachurch pastor Robert Morris blamed his accuser for initiating their yearslong “inappropriate sexual” contact when she was just 12, newly released documents show.

Morris, the founder of the Gateway Church in Southlake, resigned in June after admitting to the “inappropriate sexual behavior” with Cindy Clemishire, whom he referred to as “a young lady” despite her saying she was still a preteen at the time.

Morris’ church leaders initially stood by him — and his attorney blamed Clemishire when she threatened to sue Morris in 2007, according to correspondence from the time obtained by NBC News.

“It was your client,” lawyer J. Shelby Sharpe wrote, referring to 12-year-old Clemishire, “who initiated inappropriate behavior by coming into my client’s bedroom and getting in bed with him, which my client should not have allowed to happen.”

Clemishire said in an interview last week with NBC that she had sought $50,000 in restitution from Morris to cover the cost of counseling. Morris’ lawyer countered her request by offering to pay her $25,000 on the condition she sign a nondisclosure agreement, which she refused to do.

Even if the 12-year-old came onto him and actively sought to seduce him, an adult man (which is highly improbable but I guess can possibly happen); he still should've had enough of a basic moral compass to flatly and firmly say no, and eliminate any possible sexual situation or appearance of such from happening.

The scenario proposed by the lawyer sounds like an especially sleazy made-up story slathered in victim-blaming and legalese. I have strong doubts that the 12-year-old would approach this "man of God" in such a way. But, in the extremely unlikely but still technically not impossible situation where a 12-year-old would act as a "seducer" to someone, that would most likely be because someone (possibly the "seduced party", even) has previously been vile with that 12-year-old. How else could the kid's knowledge on sexual practice be explained?

Robert Morris is a Man of Hypocrisy and Sexual Deviance, not a Man of God.

NO matter what happened, this guy was still the ADULT in the room when all of this happened. Adults are and should be responsible for what children do when they are under the authority of that adult. So no matter how they try to spin this, he is still the responsible party.

Robert Preston Morris, 63, has been charged with five counts of lewd or indecent acts with a child.

The alleged abuse started in 1982 when the victim, referred to in the indictment as C.C., was 12 years old and Morris was a traveling evangelist staying in Hominy, Oklahoma, with her family, according to the attorney general’s office. The abuse allegedly continued for four years.

I like to bring it up because the MAGA fucks likes to drive around with "shoot your local pedophile" stickers on their trucks and are vocal that all LGBT people are groomers, but its obvious that its religious turds (like this guy) and wealthy shit-stains (like Epstein), both of which were close personal friends of Trump, are the ones who are getting arrested for raping children more than anyone else.

Sorry @Craygor - you've been missinformed. There are records of Trump being on those flights seven times. With other family members, such as Marla, Tiffany and her nanny in '94. From what I remeber from over a decade ago, one or two of those occassions it was because he was then borrowing the plane, didn't get off at the airport. If it were anything more serious you don't think the previous Admin would have screeched it to the world from the highest rooftops?
