Las Vegas Father Accused Of Sex Trafficking His Own Daughters

It’s a disturbing case out of Las Vegas, New Mexico, where a father was charged with sex trafficking after his daughters told police their father would sell them out to men on the street for drugs and money. Prosecutors are pushing to keep 43-year-old John Lee locked up behind bars until his trial, saying he’s a danger to the public. Lee is accused of sex trafficking his daughters to men for drugs and money.

The older daughter told police that the assault happened between the ages of 7 and 14. The younger daughter told authorities that she was four when the crimes happened. Lee has a hearing set for Tuesday.

The New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families Department said they have no history of investigating him or his children.

One girl told investigators with the Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office that when she was about 4, Lee allowed men who paid him to touch her in a sexual manner. In exchange, he promised her new toys, according to the affidavit. On at least one occasion when she resisted being touched by a man, Lee allegedly smacked her, and again on at least one occasion, Lee held his hand over her mouth while another man sexually groped her. She said that afterward, the man gave Lee a “stack” of money.

A second girl told investigators that from the ages of 7 through 14, Lee would take her to parking lots in Las Vegas and sell her for sex, either to settle drug debts or in exchange for heroin, the affidavit stated. Lee allegedly told the girl not to tell anyone about it and promised her new toys as a reward. The girl said the sexual encounters with adults happened inside a vehicle, and that Lee forced her to clean the seats afterward.


On at least one occasion, the girl said that, after disobeying him, Lee locked her in a room and sent three men in to rape her. Lee later “rubbed it in her face” by bragging about all the drugs he’d gotten because of it, according to the affidavit.

One of the three men who allegedly raped her is a rapper from Las Vegas. The Optic is not naming him because he has not been criminally charged and is still being investigated by area law enforcement, but the girl told investigators he’d raped her on multiple occasions, and she was able to provide investigators with details that helped them identify the man. She was also able to provide identifying marks and tattoos of the other two men as well, but no other arrest warrants related to the rapes had been issued as of this writing.
