A 15-year-old shot and killed by three gunman in a case of mistaken identity.

Here is Philadelphia Capt. Jason Smith on the senseless twist in the case of Darius Winters, who was gunned down while at a friend’s home on the 2900 block of Morris Street Monday night, as reported by 6ABC in Philly:

“We believe this is a case of mistaken identity at this point in time,” Smith said. “We think he’s going to be an innocent victim that was targeted incorrectly.”

Darius’ grandmother, LaDonna Thornton, had much harsher words of the tragic situation and for the three gunmen who remain at large.

“He didn’t deserve that; no kid deserves something like that, to just have their life taken,” said Thornton told 6ABC.

“The frustrating part is nobody sees anything, nobody known anything. It’s the culture, a no snitch culture. It doesn’t make any sense to me,” she added as her grandson’s case grows cold.
