Kentucky Woman Overdoses While Bathing Child In Sink, Friend Finds 1YO Unresponsive

A woman is facing charges after her friend allegedly found her slumped over a sink with an unresponsive child in Hopkinsville on Monday morning.

According to a report from WKDZ, a one-year-old child was brought to the hospital by a woman who told Hopkinsville Police Department officers that she found the child in the sink at her friend’s house. The woman said 29-year-old Danielle Smith was bathing the child when she appeared to have overdosed on drugs due to a piece of foil found on the sink.

The baby was given Narcan at the hospital and became responsive but was still considered in a critical state, according to WKDZ.

Hopkinsville PD officers searched the home and found drugs suspected to be methamphetamines and Suboxone strips, which is a drug used to combat narcotic dependence.

Doing meth while bathing your infant is a really STOOOOOOOOOOOOOPID idea. It's not like bringing out the bong and taking a hit. That would NOT impact most people gravely. Meth, one hit and you can die. You probably won't, but you can. And more that just you can die. Like anyone that can't fend for themselves. It's not the same as a glass of chardonnay with bathing the bitty FFS.

We have a real epidemic in this country. She didn’t grow up saying she wanted to be an addict. This is a horrific situation, but the answer isn’t condemnation.

Carol Camoirano Oh please get off your soap box lady, if she wanted help she would get it. I have one who has had the same issue but not with this deadly drug nor involving his children and I know how they operate. Your compassion should be expressed for the innocent little girl she nearly murdered. The answer is not pity either!

It is not like Rhonda said kill her. Either Carol is a friend or family member of Dirty D or had a family or friend just as fucked up as she is.

While she may need help she also needs to be held accountable for almost killing her child. if that friend had not come along that baby would probably be dead right now.
