A police release said officers were called to the hospital just after midnight by a social worker who suspected child abuse.

The child, Dylan Carr, was just under four months old. She had bruises on her arms and legs, appeared unresponsive and was placed in ICU with traumatic brain injuries.

Police said the child’s mother, Alexandria Randall, 26, brought her daughter to the hospital after finding her in distress when she returned home from work. She told police she didn’t believe Justin Carr, 37, , her boyfriend, was abusive.

Officers interviewed Carr at their home and children still in the home were placed in state care. Carr was arrested on a battery charge that night because a medical exam showed ocular hemorrhaging and bruises the child couldn’t have caused to herself and a CT scan showed massive brain death. When the child died Monday, the charge was upgraded to murder.

Yep he looks completely rumpled and slightly sideways but definitely abusive, as mom learned at the death of her baby. There is nothing any 4mo can do to them self, good or bad, usually can not even roll over or hold their head up very long, so why did it even say the injuries were considered something the child couldn't do to herself.

They need to start charging the mothers too. These bitches need to be more choosey with who they leave their children with. He just needs to die.
Some people are truly manipulative and good at hiding their abuse. Sometimes they've never been abusive before, but lose control after multiple nights of no sleep and/or drug abuse. And sometimes the other parent willfully looks the other way.

The other parent should definitely always be investigated, but they've already "started charging the mothers" in the vast majority of cases where it's warranted.

If in fact she is innocent, my heart goes out to this mother. What an awful thing to come home to. What an awful thing to spend the rest of your life blaming yourself for.

Baby and boyfriend have same last name so I’m assuming he’s the baby’s father. In a sane world one should be able to leave their child with the child’s father.
Calling him her boyfriend suggests to me that they don't live together and he's not a permanent fixture.
They also refer to the dead child as her daughter, but don't call him the father. I'm not so sure they're related.
Anyway in my opinion this shit happens far too often.

I think it’s kind of a given that that “this shit” happens too often. Jesus, once is too often, let alone the plethora of cases that get posted here daily.

But I’m curious as what one calls their live in boyfriend when they’re not married or fake engaged? I always simply called mine, my boyfriend.

And sure it could be an uncanny coincidence that the under 4 month old baby’s last name is Carr, the mother’s is Randall, and the boyfriend’s, who may or may not live with them,(not sure why that matters anyway) is Carr.

If the mother knew he was abusive prior to this incident, then she should be charged regardless of paternity. I was simply stating that it’s another sad day when your child’s not safe with their parent.
