From the looks of his Myspace he returned from Iraq VERY shortly before he murdered his step son. His Myspace page on 01-27-2009 said that he was in Iraq and was looking forwards to coming home soon. We know for a fact that he was back state side by 02-07-2009.

The last log in on his Myspace page was 03-11-2009, he is not out on bond so I wonder if the mother is checking his Myspace...Her last log in on myspace was also 03-11-2009.

A detective took the stand in court Thursday and said Keegan Andrew Metz died from multiple blunt-force injuries.
Detectives also said they are investigating prior things related to this case, but they wouldn't elaborate.
The judge found there was enough evidence against Starner to send the case to the grand jury. He has been charged with aggravated child abuse and homicide charges.

This morning, lead investigator, Detective Alan Charvis was the only one to take the stand testify about the ongoing murder investigation.

Charvis said doctors at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital said Keegan suffered multiple blunt force injuries that were not accidental injuries.
Debra Wall Starner's defense attorney called into question details spelled out in the warrant.
Charvis said that the traumas listed in the warrant were what he was told by Vanderbilt healthcare providers.
The child may not have suffered anal tearing, but had what looked like anal tearing, Charvis said.
Charvis said the case was still being investigated and they are looking into possible prior abuse.
Following the testimony from Charvis, Wall asked for a dismissal stating there was no probable cause.
Shelton overruled the motion and bound the case over to the grand jury. Charvis said first degree felony murder and other charges are expected to be added.
Shelton left Starner's bond at $1 million dollars.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – A former Fort Campbell soldier was scheduled to start trial Monday, but it was postponed. Investigators said he is responsible for the death of a 23-month-old boy.

Doctors said Keegan Andrew Metz had head injuries, bruises all over his body and there was evidence he had been raped. Starner claimed the child fell down in the bathtub.

Police said the boy's mother left Keegan alone with Starner when she went to the store. When she got home the child was in bed unresponsive. The mom called 911, and he was taken by EMS to Gateway Hospital. Keegan was then flown by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

When the young boy arrived at Vanderbilt, hospital officials said the child had severe forehead trauma and was in critical condition. He died as a result of those injuries.

Starner is charged with aggravated child abuse felony murder and aggravated rape of a child.

That's it right there ninja. They were both in on it. Initially, he was taking all the blame and as always as time passes, the truth comes out. Apparently the story about her not being there was just that, a story.

I was trying to reply to your post in another thread about your then 18 month old drawing on the walls, and wasn't making sense. What I was attempting to get out was that my three year old just drew on one of our kitchen walls last week - and I didn't even get angry. He was probably bored, and it was my fault for leaving him alone in the kitchen long enough to get all Van Gogh anyway.

It's unclear what new details police received that led to the arrest of Metz three years after the incident.

Starner was re-indicted in February and had two counts of aggravated child abuse and felony murder added. His bond is set at $1.4 million.
