President Biden appeared to admit Tuesday that his son Hunter lied about his drug use to buy a gun — a federal felony — by pointing to the first son’s memoir, which describes his roaring crack cocaine addiction at the time.

In the president’s first public comments since the Washington Post reported last week that investigators believe there’s enough evidence to charge Hunter, 52, with both tax fraud and lying on the gun purchase form, Biden told CNN’s Jake Tapper that his son now is “on the straight and narrow.”

“Well, first of all, I’m proud of my son,” said Biden, whose involvement in his son’s overseas work will be a top focus of Republicans if they retake Congress in the Nov. 8 midterm elections.

“This is a kid who got, not a kid — he’s a grown man. He got hooked on — like many families have had happen, hooked on drugs. He’s overcome that. He’s established a new life.

“He is — I’m confident that he is — what he says and does are consistent with what happens,” Joe Biden added. “And for example, he wrote a book about his problems and was straightforward about it. I’m proud of him.”

The president then veered into discussing Hunter’s controversial firearm purchase in October 2018.

“He came along and said, by the way, this thing about a gun — I didn’t know anything about it. But turns out that when he made [an] application to purchase a gun, what happened was he say —- I guess you get asked, I don’t guess, you get asked a question, are you on drugs or do you use drugs? He said no. And he wrote about saying no in his book.”

“So I have great confidence in my son,” Biden concluded. “I love him and he’s on the straight and narrow and he has been for a couple years now. And I’m just so proud of him.”

A copy of the Oct. 12, 2018, gun transaction form indicates that Hunter had answered “no” to the question, “Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?”

Sounds like nobody asked Zombie about the business deals with him, Hunter, and China, and his sons selling access to himself, hey is he proud of all that too? ... Ah yeah, every question would have been pre-prepared and likely well-rehearsed before the interviewer got near him (then ofc the edits afterward to make it clean).

Joe suggests Hunter may've lied?

What does the White House say?

"I have great confidence in my son. He lied about doing drugs to get a gun, and did it, like, actually pretty recently, but basically he is turning out fine. He will not keep doing... that specifically. He's on the straight and narrow, definitely. Or, well, he is at least starting on that path right now. Maybe except for this one thing, but other than that, he's a good kid, I mean adult. He's not a kid anymore. He has not confessed or repented to a whole lot of the bad stuff, but he's a good guy."

Secret Service has Hunter Biden gun probe docs it denied having

The Secret Service has located hundreds of pages of records tied to the investigation of a gun belonging to Hunter Biden – despite having denied they existed, a government watchdog group said Thursday.

Judicial Watch is investigating whether the Secret Service intervened on behalf of President Biden’s son after the incident, and it has sued the agency for all materials related to the reported purchase, possession, and disposal of the firearm owned by Hunter Biden.

The group has accused the Secret Service of repeatedly changing its position on whether it has any documents related to the investigation.

“The Secret Service’s changing story on records raises additional questions about its role in the Hunter Biden gun incident,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

“One thing is clear, Judicial Watch’s persistence means the public may get records that the Secret Service suggested didn’t exist.”

Secret Service puzzled by intervention in Hunter Biden missing gun probe: emails

Members of the Secret Service were puzzled about the agency’s alleged involvement in an investigation of a gun owned by Hunter Biden which was allegedly dumped in a trash can by his then-girlfriend in 2018, a trove of new emails reveals.

As a former vice president, Biden and his family were not receiving Secret Service protection at the time of the “alleged incident” — and one agent speculated that “maybe we were asked for a favor?” according to emails obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request by nonprofit Judicial Watch.

After Joe Biden became president, the agency was in contact with the White House to produce a public statement insisting they had “no involvement in this alleged incident,” emails show.

In October 2020 an agent, whose name was redacted, shared a link an article from The Blaze about the incident in an email chain with other agents, the trove shows.

“Oh dear…….,” the agent noted.

“Maybe we were asked as a favor?” another agent chimed in.

A third responder on the thread added that “It’s kind of odd that we were involved in the missing gun investigation when neither Hunter or Joe were even receiving USSS protection at that time? Hmmm.”

Hunter’s 2018 gun purchase is believed to be part of a years-long investigation into his personal and professional activities by the Department of Justice. The probe is being led by Delaware US attorney David Weiss, who was appointed to the post by former President Trump.
