elf-proclaimed “gaffe machine” Joe Biden added several extra zeroes to the nation’s coronavirus death toll during a campaign stop in Pennsylvania — prompting President Trump to slam the prospective Democratic nominee’s “mortifyingly stupid” comment.

“People don’t have a job, people don’t know where to go, they don’t know what to do,” the former vice president said in Lancaster on Thursday, Fox News reported. “Now we have over 120 million dead from COVID.”

In reality, the death toll from the illness in the US stood at about 122,000, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University.

Biden, 77, did manage to catch himself when he uttered the flub, which didn’t make it into the pool video of the event, according to the news outlet.

The president seized on the verbal slip-up in a tweet.

“If I ever said something so mortifyingly stupid, the Fake News Media would come down on me with a vengeance,” Trump wrote. “This is beyond a normal mistake. Why isn’t the media reporting it?”

WASHINGTON — Former Vice President Joe Biden said in a Thursday television interview he would require wearing face masks in public to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Asked by Pittsburgh CBS affiliate KDKA what he would do to help halt the surge in coronavirus cases, Biden said he would "go back to making sure that everyone had masks."

"The one thing we do know — these masks make a gigantic difference," Biden said. "I would insist that everybody out in public be wearing that mask."

When asked if he would use federal powers to require the wearing of masks, Biden said, "Yes, I would. From an executive standpoint, yes I would."

"I would do everything possible to make it required that people had to wear masks in public," he added.

The president has held large rallies over the past week in which thousands of people filled indoor venues, many of whom did not wear face masks. Biden told KDKA he would not hold indoor rallies like Trump unless he could be sure the virus were under control or a vaccine were available.

The former vice president also encouraged mask-wearing during his remarks in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, where he slammed Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

"We’re going to have to wear masks. And I know as Americans it’s not something we’re used to. But it matters," he said.

The ONLY mask that helps are N95 and they have a 8 hour usage limit.. Mask make people feel safer not actually be safer.. Do your research sleepy joe!! Here COVID has gone up since opening stuff up.. Report that!! Mask being worn by thousands..
