"Seattle [Washington] Police say a 37-year-old woman (a long-term guest in the unit next to the dogs' apartment who was causing issues with the residents and regularly trying to get into other residents' apartments) was reportedly shot by the manager of the apartment building she was staying at after she allegedly broke into another unit and let out three dogs" who then attacked other people.
When responding to the first call:
"... The [NOT the 37-year-old burglar] woman told police she heard dogs barking downstairs and went to make sure it wasn't a friend's dog who lives on a lower level. When she got off the elevator, she was attacked by the dogs and bit on the arm."
"By the time officers arrived, the dogs had wandered back into their apartment."
But then the dogs wandered back out later and caused some mayhem and panic:
"The building manager, got his gun and fired it into the air but when that didn't stop the dogs he fired two shots at the dogs, hitting the 37-year-old woman.
"The manager, a 50-year-old male, was treated by medics for his dog bite and arrested for reckless endangerment but was later released."
"The owner of the three dogs came home and showed police the three crates where he keeps his dogs when he is not at the apartment. He said it was not possible for them to escape the apartment unless they were let out by a person."
"... the 37-year-old woman and she admitted to breaking into the apartment and letting the dogs out as well as stealing several items from the apartment."
Look, it's a roller-coaster ride, you'll have to read the article.
