A man who lived at a local migrant shelter and is accused of raping and impregnating his own teen daughter has been ordered held without bail.
The man, who is not being identified so as not to also identify the victim of a sexual assault, was arrested by Marlborough police over the weekend for an incident that was reported last May.

According to the heavily redacted incident report, Eliot Community Human Services, which is operating migrant shelters at the Holiday Inn and Extended Stay hotels in Marlborough, contacted police last May for an incident that occurred the previous month.
Eliot, which is based in Lexington, reported that a girl who was at the shelter had sent texts to someone indicating that she was pregnant “in the past by her father,” and that “her father had sex with her multiple times, both on the journey to the U.S. and in the U.S.,” according to the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities Division of Housing Stabilization.
Because of that information, Eliot staff removed the girl from her father’s custody. The father, according to the incident report, began yelling at staff and making threatening gestures, so staff called police.

Staff members told police they wanted the man to leave for the safety of the staff and other children at the shelter, according to the incident report.

Police arrested the man this weekend.

A man who lived at a local migrant shelter in Marlborough has been sentenced to 12 to 15 years in state prison after pleading guilty to raping and impregnating his 14-year-old daughter.
The man, whom the Daily News is not naming so as to not also identify the victim, pleaded guilty last Friday, July 11, in Middlesex Superior Court in Woburn to aggravated rape of a child.

Judge Kenneth Salinger then sentenced him to 12 to 15 years in state prison.
According to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the man and his daughter lived at a migrant shelter at a Marlborough hotel identified previously in the Daily News as the Holiday Inn between September 2023 and May 2024. According to the District Attorney’s Office, the school that the victim attended became concerned that she had become pregnant and contacted authorities.
Migrant staff members also reported that the girl had sent text messages to others indicating her father got her pregnant and that they had had sex several times while on the way to the United States and after they had arrived.
During the investigation, the man was removed from the Marlborough hotel and sent to another shelter.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, the victim underwent an ultrasound and it indicated the time of conception occurred when the teen and father were in Marlborough. When the baby was born, authorities conducted DNA testing, and it determined the man was the biological father of both the victim and her child.

The father is a Haitian national

Earlier this year, Jon Fetherston, a former Massachusetts state employee who was running the Marlborough shelter when the crime was uncovered, told Fox News Digital that when he confronted Joseph, the Haitian migrant grabbed and attacked him.

A report by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, obtained by Fox News Digital, further confirmed that after Joseph was informed he would lose access to his daughter, he "got very agitated and started yelling" at Fetherston, stating that "this was all his fault, and he was to blame."
Fetherston told Fox News Digital that as soon as Joseph heard he was losing custody of his daughter, he "reached across the table and grabbed me and got angry with me and started cursing and yelling and screaming and swinging at me because he realized what was happening."

Rather than arrest Joseph immediately, Fetherston said he was directed by authorities to order the immigrant a Lyft ride to another shelter in Worcester County.

"I'm going to be honest. The entire experience has shaken me to my core," said Fetherston.
