The Charleston Police Department took in a dog that was involved in a car accident Saturday night.
Ptlm. Reed responded to a crash Saturday night, according to a Facebook post from Charleston Police Department Community Services. The post said the female driver in the crash suffered some injuries and had to be transported to the hospital without her dog, Kobe.
With no animal control officers on duty, dangerous interstate conditions and the driver’s parents a few hours away, Ptlm. Reed asked if he could take care of Kobe until family members arrived.
Kobe was then taken to the Charleston Police Department where he got to hang out with Charleston police officers.
The post said, “The family later responded and almost broke down in tears in response to Ptlm. Reed’s kindness in watching over Kobe and making this bad situation a little better.”
