Compliments of Buffett. We couldn't find a previous thread about this murderous fuck.

A former Perth school boy who was last week found guilty of murdering his mother, father and brother in their South African home, has been injured in prison.

Henri Van Breda was rushed to the emergency department at Cape Town’s Karl Bremer Hospital yesterday.

Local media reports the incident happened in jail, however it’s unclear what injuries he suffered.

Some media speculated the 23-year-old had attempted suicide, however his uncle said those reports were “nonsense”.

South Africa’s Department of Correctional Services also denied the reports.

The court heard Van Breda “did nothing” to help his slain family.

He was scheduled to be sentenced on Tuesday, however it’s not clear whether the injury could delay that.

Van Breda is facing at least 25 years behind bars.

I think he was just trying to delay the inevitable.

I don't about anyone else, but the biggest question I have is, how common is it for a prison to have condom dispensers scatter about?

I think it sounds like an excellent idea. Hopefully reduces the incidence of STIs and likely saves the government far more in treatment costs than is costs them to maintain availability.

I don't have a problem with condoms in prisons, its the dispenser part that surprised me.

I can feel my whole body contract when I read about axe murders as if it's trying to make itself smaller.

So the little sister survived being savaged by the axe attack but she will serve a life sentence reliving the sounds and sights of a waking nightmare wrapped in agony and horror.

They don't actually say whether these are free condoms or whether inmates have to pay. I just assumed they were free, and the dispenser does preserve anonymity. How would you suggest they distribute them?

Former Perth schoolboy Henri van Breda has been handed three life sentences for the grisly murders of his parents and brother in South Africa.

Van Breda, 23, showed no emotion as the sentences were handed down by Judge Siraj Desai in the Western Cape High Court today.

He was also given a 15-year sentence for the attempted murder of his sister and an additional 12 months for obstruction of justice.
[....]
Judge Desai said van Breda had shown no remorse for the "cold-blooded" murders, which displayed "a high level of innate cruelty".

"The violence was excessive and gratuitous," Judge Desai said.

"It was intended to cause maximum harm.

"The three victims died with wounds caused by the axe you wielded against them.

"The fourth survived, albeit with serious injuries.

"The clear intent was to kill her as well."
[....]
Defence lawyer Pieter Botha had argued van Breda's youth should be a mitigating factor in the sentence, but Judge Desai said the crimes deserved "the severest possible penalty".

"Your future was not bleak. In fact, it was bright," he told van Breda.

"You had the support of family and, more importantly, they had the means to assist you in your future endeavours, and it seems to me they would have done so."
