Psaki insists Harris still border czar after Guatemalan leader claims no contact

White House press secretary Jen Psaki claimed Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris is still the Biden administration’s point person on immigration after the president of Guatemala said in an interview last week that he has had no contact with any top US official since this summer.

President Alejandro Giammattei claimed to Fox News that he hasn’t heard from Harris since she visited Guatemala City in June as part of a rocky trip to discuss the “root causes” of the continuing immigration crisis at the US southern border.

“We had many conversations with your ambassador, but [between] my presidency and the White House, no,” Giammattei said. “I spoke once to Joe Biden because I introduced myself. Then we had the visit of Vice President Harris. On matters of state and migration, we had [Homeland Security Secretary] Mr. Alejandro Mayorkas [in July]. Aside from that direct communication, no, we have not had it.”

“Is Vice President Harris still in charge of addressing the root causes of migration from El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala?” Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy asked Psaki Monday.

“She is, and I just announced a commitment that she’s announcing this afternoon,” answered Psaki, referring to the $1.2 billion investment from international businesses to support the economies and social infrastructure of Central American nations.

“Well, then why is it that she has not spoken to the President of Guatemala since June?” Doocy followed up. “That’s six months.”

In the fictional universe of Star Trek, the Prime Directive (also known as "Starfleet General Order 1", "General Order 1", and the "non-interference directive") is a guiding principle of Starfleet that prohibits its members from interfering with the natural development of alien civilizations.[1] The Prime Directive protects unprepared civilizations from the dangerous tendency of well-intentioned starship crews to introduce advanced technology, knowledge, and values before they are ready.[2]

We need a prime directive, badly.

House Democrat slams Kamala Harris on border: 'Doesn't look like she's very interested in this'

Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, a moderate whose district covers nearly 200 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border, told the New York Times he had been disappointed by his interactions with Harris, who was tasked by President Biden with addressing the migrant border crisis. When Cuellar learned she was finally visiting the border in June, more than three months after being appointed by Biden to handle the issue, his staff called her office to offer advice. Her office didn't return the call.

"I say this very respectfully to her: I moved on," Cuellar said. "She was tasked with that job, it doesn’t look like she’s very interested in this, so we are going to move on to other folks that work on this issue."

Damn those Moderate Democrats! They need to learn to toe the line! How dare they!

So this woman isn't doing her job, but they keep coming up with some fucking excuse that she is being pushed aside or targeted or alienated: what ever else they can come up with to make it seem like this poor excuse for a VP is being mistreated by the misogynists

Also... the sound of those fucking crickets is still deafening

Kamala Harris increasingly absent from immigration debate amid Title 42 drama

Amid record-setting numbers of attempted border crossings and courtroom drama over the fate of Title 42, critics say one voice has been consistently absent from the ongoing immigration debate: the president’s own migration czar.

Vice President Kamala Harris attempted to put her stamp on the issue last summer by visiting El Paso and warning migrants “do not come” during a trip to Guatemala. But in recent months, she’s limited her discussion of the issue to one-on-one meetings and exchanged public declarations for paper statements.

Harris appears to have hosted just one public event this year focused on migration — a Jan. 27 trip to Honduras to attend the inauguration of President Xiomara Castro. While there, Harris said her focus on the “root causes” of migration would not fix the US-Mexico border crisis “overnight.”

Mark Morgan, who led the US Border Patrol in the final months of the Obama administration before leading US Customs and Border Protection between 2019 and 2021 during the Trump administration, accused Harris of not doing enough.

‘Migrant czar’ Kamala Harris to hit up Dem ‘soiree’ as Title 42 lifts

WASHINGTON — Vice President Kamala Harris will visit Atlanta on Friday for a Democratic Party “spring soiree” — instead of visiting the US-Mexico border in her role as migration czar as thousands of people illegally enter America after the lifting of the Title 42 COVID-19 expulsion policy.

Harris will depart Washington around noon and appear mid-afternoon at a Democratic National Committee finance event before being the guest of honor at the Democratic Party of Georgia’s Spring Soiree.

The optics of Harris attending political events instead of tending to the border crisis drew fresh condemnation from Republicans, who have accused her of not doing enough on border issues since President Biden tapped her in March 2021 to lead US efforts to reduce illegal immigration.

“Title 42 ended last night at midnight. Since then, absolute chaos has erupted at the southern border,” tweeted Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.). “Yet Joe Biden and Border Czar Kamala Harris are nowhere to be found.”

The vice president’s office did not share with The Post any specific plans for Harris to address the border rush in the coming days — with a Homeland Security intelligence analysis reported by the New York Times saying 660,000 migrants from around the world may be waiting in Mexico to cross into the US.

Soiree, well ain't we fancy!

I doubt that 10% of Georgia even knows what a soiree is.

I don't feel that a bunch of politicians getting to together to discuss how they can further fuck the populace, to be a soiree, it's more like a cabal for the worst of the worst.

"Biden’s creepy remarks came as Title 42 expired at the southern border, as millions of migrants are set to flood the United States illegally.":
Oh, and righteous Catholic Resident -unelected Biden, meet righteous "pope" Francis:

Biden finally admits border isn’t secure, believes ‘massive changes’ needed: ‘I’m ready to act’

President Biden told reporters Friday that the US-Mexico border is not secure — contradicting Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas — after endorsing “massive changes” in immigration policy.

“No, it’s not,” Biden said when asked whether the frontier was secure following remarks to a bipartisan group of mayors in the White House East Room.

During his speech, the 81-year-old Biden said he hoped for Senate negotiators to announce a compromise next week on border policy as part of a broader $106 billion supplemental spending request that would also finance military aid for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.

“I believe we need significant policy changes at the border, including changes in our asylum system to ensure that we have the authorities we need to control the border. I’m ready to act,” the president said

“Now the question is for the [House] Speaker [Mike Johnson] and the House Republicans: Are they ready to act as well?” Biden added.

“They have to choose whether they want to solve a problem or keep weaponizing the issue to score political points against the president. I’m ready to solve the problem. I really am,” he added. “Massive changes, and I mean it sincerely.”

It’s unclear what asylum policy changes could be palatable to all three of the White House, Senate Democrats and House Republicans.

Now? NOW? you're ready to act? He really is afraid he's going to lose the election, which, of course, he is.

Politicans speak more and more often to the stupidest people.
They dont try to fix big issues, all they are care about the next 4 years and nothing else.
It's all pretty bleak.
Democracy is hard work, compromise, patience, participation, etc.

I'm exhausted, bring on the benign dictatorship.

You've been doing a awesome job of 'acting' like you 'fricken care'. What's going to change now?

As people prepare to vote you out of office, illegal immigration will surge because they want to get in before you leave office.

I just ran into this:

February 22, 2018
"Vice President Mike Pence travels to the Texas-Mexico border on Friday in his first visit to the area as vice president."

So 1 year, 1 month. Pence

How long did it take before vice president Harris visited the Border?

June 25, 2021
Kamala Harris makes her first visit to the US-Mexico border as vice president

So 5 months. Harris

Seriously? A thread three pages long about why is it taking so long for vice president Harris to visit the border but it took Pence more than twice as long to get to the Border after being sworn in?

Am I going to find a thread about Pence?
Same ridicule, but six pages long?

*looks*

No. Not a word about it. Not one.

We didn't have the same issues, but he did take control, now tell me what cameltoe Harris has done, except adding more funding to take care of more illegals crossing the border

Pence ordered borders closed after CDC experts refused

NEW YORK (AP) — Vice President Mike Pence in March directed the nation’s top disease control agency to use its emergency powers to effectively seal the U.S. borders, overruling the agency’s scientists who said there was no evidence the action would slow the coronavirus, according to two former health officials. The action has so far caused nearly 150,000 children and adults to be expelled from the country.

The Biden-Harris Administration is increasing funding available to border cities and those cities receiving an influx of migrants, in addition to strengthening ongoing coordination and collaboration across all levels of government.

Pence was never appointed "Boarder Czar" and publicly tasked with taking care of this. Not a typical task for the VP, yet Biden appointed Harris for this exact role. Not apples to apples here. 100% completely different circumstances and roles of the VP's.

Pence was never appointed "Boarder Czar"
Quite true. Nobody was.

Czar. Bizarre.
and publicly tasked with taking care of this.
Hmm. That sounds like Medieval Marxist Monarchy.

Not a typical task for the VP,
It's usually a full-time job for someone to be the Czar of anything. I think that was pretty shitty of Biden to give her that, in addition to being Vice president.
What, he didn't have anything to do when he was vice president , he had the free time for another full-time job? Hmph

yet Biden appointed Harris for this exact role.
Again, how dumb. I don't fault her, I fault him.

The criticism of her is seldom based in anything honest. It's something cruel and resentful. And it does this country no good.

Not apples to apples here.
Food Czar.

100% completely different circumstances and roles of the VP's.

Let's compare her to the future
1) Border Czar Accountability Act and
2) An unfilled position.

1. President Biden appointed her March 24th, 2021
She visited the Border June 25th, 2021

That is 63 working days.
(That is standard and customary)
We can go with that and say she was just 3 days over what the Border Czar Accountability Act called for, visiting the border every 60 days

We can go a step further and emphasize that her primary job is being vice president and that means filling in when the president isn't there, and did so while President Biden took approximately 12 work day vacation days in that time frame, so that would leave us with 51 days

.Also, we know that vice president Harris always takes off Donald Trump's birthday and Willie Brown's birthday (that's for you @knockout) so down to 49.

So from the time she was appointed until the time of her first visit it was 49 days, well under the 60 days. In fact, she was early.

Ok. We'll leave it at 63.

2. Comparing Harris to an empty chair? She's done better. If she only said the word "border" once, she did better.

Pence isn't an apple, he's a turnip.
*******************************************************

But I could have said:

"President Trump visited the Border January 12th, 2021 in order to assess matters for himself, so he could confidently and responsibly give the transition team up-to-date information to assist the incoming president.
It took a full half a year for a cabinet level official to bother to come down and see things with their own eyes!! 165 DAYS!
Not one bit of concern or attention to the most pressing danger to the United states, it's secure border. A three. hour flight. Work on the plane. Common Sense. Biden may be a turnip. "

But I never have to say
1) she failed because dick sucking is her only qualification
2) she's succeeding because she sucks dicks.

Here's what vexes me.
Debate is intended for putting things out in the free market of ideas in order to push the best ones to the top, not to simply hammer at opposing ideas until they're smaller than yours.

There's a problem when a nation's citizens wants it's leaders to fail rather than succeed.

Former Border Patrol Chief reveals no communication with Biden or Harris during tenure

WASHINGTON (TND) — Former Chief of Border Patrol Raul Ortiz said he never spoke to President Joe Biden nor Vice President Kamala Harris, who was named “Border Czar” during the two years he was in charge of security at the southern border.

Washington Insider Armstrong Williams joined The National Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat.

“He said so much more. He never met with Harris or Biden. Never spoke with them because obviously, he was not willing to do their bidding because they had their own agenda,” he said. “But he also heavily criticized Governor Abbott and also the Republicans that they're all playing games at the borders, against the interests of the American people.”

Ortiz retired last year but in a 60 Minutes interview that aired Sunday, he talked about his frustrations with the White House and how he never had one conversation with Biden or Harris.

He said he could not believe the White House did not talk to the person in charge of the border during record-setting illegal crossings and also during the end of title 42. “I was the chief of border patrol. I commanded 21,000 people,” he said. “That was a big problem.“
