Butte County Sheriff's Deputies say an Oroville woman has been arrested after an investigation revealed she was home when three children were molested. Detectives say they found evidence that Summer Carver, 33, of Oroville was home on multiple occasions when David Acuff molested three children and at least one occasion when Joshua Chadwick molested a child.
Five children have all been taken into protective custody based on the evidence. Carver was arrested for making a child available for the purpose of allowing lewd and lascivious acts to be committed on the child, three felony counts of child endangerment, one felony count of lewd and lascivious acts with a child, and two felony counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child.
Chadwick and Acuff were arrested after an investigation revealed child pornography and evidence showing they sexually abused children, under 10 years old, for an extended period of time.
[automerge]1594785032[/automerge]Through investigation, evidence was located showing the mother identified as 33-year-old Summer Carver, of Oroville, was present on several occasions when David Acuff molested the victims, according to detectives. Evidence also proved that Carver was present on one occasion when Joshua Chadwick molested one of the victims.
Detectives said it was determined Carver had a total of five children, Butte County Children's Services detained all children.
On the afternoon of July 13, Carver was placed under arrest and booked into the Butte County Jail, detectives said. She was arrested for three felony counts of making a child available for the purpose of allowing lewd and lascivious acts to be committed on the child, among others charges, according to the sheriff's report.
Her bail has been set at $825,000. She is scheduled to be arraigned at the Butte County Superior Court on Wednesday, July 15.
