A stabbing attack at a hotel in Glasgow city centre has left a number of people injured and a police officer in a critical condition.

A male suspect was shot dead by an armed police officer at the scene of the incident at the city's Park Inn hotel, which had been housing a number of asylum seekers and refugees.

Police said the incident was now contained and did not present a threat to the wider public.

Armed police have sealed off West George Street and paramedics in hazmat suits were seen treating a person on a blood-stained pavement.

Footage of the incident showed armed police outside a building as a number of people ran out with their hands up.

Eyewitnesses told Sky News they saw people, bloodied, being taken on stretchers from the Park Inn hotel.

Word is it's a nutter that was going to be deported. So its not terrorism. Which I am happy about as that shit scares me. Not that nutters don't scare me! But you know what I mean. I have a voice clip on WhatsApp from a guy that was at the scene but I probably won't figure out how to post it.
It was breaking uk news but its subsided now they know it's not terrorism. Still shit though eh. From the clip this guy seen the maintenance worker at the hotel had been stabbed badly. And the guy says in the clip the guy stabbed loads of folk then went to his room. Then the armed police came to his room and shot him.
This is all unconfirmed obviously.
