I've said all along the news media in general has an agenda, I've called the media a propaganda branch of agenda politics and not an impartial news media. All news is presented in a manner to influence the public perception of the events
Nothing more egregious than CNN's famous

‘Fiery But Mostly Peaceful’

It’s worth reflecting this week on this bizarre 2018 moment, as it serves as the prelude to the first (and possibly only) trial of Trump in 2024. The trial that officially began on Monday isn’t about “insurrection” or “espionage” or classified documents or RICO. Oh no. It’s this reality TV, trashy tabloid junk about porn stars and Playmates — stuff that belongs more in the National Enquirer than the National Broadcasting Company.

Which is ironic, of course, because the first witness in the case was David Pecker, the former executive in charge of the National Enquirer. (It’s also ironic that Avenatti is now firmly on Team Trump, saying he’d be happy to testify for the defense, although of course he’s also currently in federal prison for wire fraud and tax fraud, so…)

It’s been more than six years since that initial FBI raid, and the original Avenatti media sin. But buckle up, here we go. We’re getting to hear about the way Trump teamed up with the National Enquirer in an effort to boost his 2016 campaign. A bit like how most of the establishment press today is teaming up with the Biden campaign to stop Trump in this cycle.
You know that story about Ted Cruz’s father potentially being involved in the murder of JFK? Totally made up, to help Trump in the primary! None of this is surprising, to any discerning news consumer. But it does allow the media to get on their proverbial high horse over “checkbook journalism” — as if the crusty old legacy press hasn’t been doing a version of it for decades, when ABC or NBC wants to secure a big “get” on their morning show. But the journalistic ethics of the National Enquirer are a red herring — a distraction from the substance of the trial.

After Pecker, we’ll get Cohen, and Daniels, and McDougal as witnesses. Avenatti, at least it seems for now, will stay in prison, and not get to return to the limelight.

This trial is a circus. But the media made their choice way back in 2018. And now they too are on trial.

St some point the CIA started seeding our news with propaganda which would allegedly be targeted at foreigners who live here, but they certainly haven’t missed any opportunities to fuck with the rest of us.

Honestly, when it comes to mainstream media's analysis of legal matters, we should not be skeptical. Their analyses are not flawed or biased. They are garbage. Hot, f**king garbage with diarrhea sauce. Mere skepticism doesn't go nearly far enough. They deserve nothing short of scorn and derision.

Nothing new to see here. The first evidence I have seen documented of the government stepping in and influencing the media was in 1947 with Roswell, The Military only allowed 1 Newspaper to report on the issue under their Guidance.

The documents for Operation Mocking Bird have since been declassified in reference to the 60's when the CIA Planted operatives as News Broadcasters to change the perception of how Americans viewed Russia in relation to the Cold War.

Anyone who at any given time thought all these shenanigan's stopped/ended is completely naïve. The Government when they get their claws into something don't "use in moderation" but rather "Expand" as far as they can without getting slapped, and unfortunately the loudest megaphone influencing the opinions of 400 Million people + is a bit hard to Silence.

No, really, how do you feel about that?

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you 100%. I kind of just wanted this repeated.

The bigger problem is the lack of critical thinking in this country. Gone are the days when someone might research information in their own, glean details from multiple sources and perspectives, then decide for themselves what they wanted to believe.

Nowadays too many people pick their preferred media option, play it incessantly, and take every last word as absolute gospel.

And also it's almost impossible to figure out who's lying and who's tell the truth. You can research something and every result you get is different, because the news media spins things to their advantage or perspective and nobody just honestly or dispassionately reports what they see or know about anything. We didn't used to rely on Saturday Night Live to tell us who to elect President. But it seems a lot of people do now. SNL used to be funny but it's not anymore.
