Cops in Florida are looking for a heartless couple caught on surveillance video dumping a dog and 11 pups outside a local animal shelter.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office said the cold-blooded pair could get charged if deputies track them down, the sheriff’s office said on Facebook Monday.

“Dumping animals is ILLEGAL and these individuals could face criminal charges,” the post said. “Reaching out does not mean dropping animals off on a day when the shelter is closed and leaving them for dead.”

“It means picking up the phone and allowing Animal Services employees to provide a time for intake to collect information about your animals,” it said. “Those dogs have clearly had a rough 24 hours.”

Footage posted on Twitter by the sheriff’s office shows the couple pulling up outside the Walton County Animal Shelter in a white Ford F-150 pickup truck before noon Sunday.

The woman is seen walking up to the front of the shelter with the black dog eagerly following behind — with her companion then placing a box next to the front door.

The two briefly rifle through a stack of donations left at the shelter before driving off.

“It’s at that moment when the dog realizes she’s been abandoned and left behind,” the sheriff’s office post said. “An hour goes by before staff sees the momma dog peering through the windows of the shelter.”

The puppies were inside the box, police said

A man and woman who were caught on surveillance footage recently abandoning a dog and her 11 puppies outside a closed animal shelter have turned themselves in to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.

The couple were seen pulling up to the Walton County Animal Shelter in DeFuniak Springs just before noon on Dec. 19, according to a Facebook post by the Sheriff’s Office.

According to the WCSO, charges are pending further investigation. The suspects’ names had not been released as of Thursday morning. Both are reportedly Okaloosa County residents.

Abandoning animals is illegal. According to Florida State Statutes, anyone who abandons an animal could face a fine of up to $5,000 or both imprisonment and a fine.

Walton County Animal Services asks that anyone who is having trouble taking care of their pets reach out to the shelter.

If you don’t want the responsibility of AMomma dog and her 11 baby pups you should get the mamma dog spayed! Take Care of your responsibility to the dog. I hope these two good for nothings be publicly named and shamed ! I’d like to see then held financially responsible for the mother dog and all of her babies! Worthless wastrels! The idea that they would just dump them without any provisions!! Heartless! That tells me they probably weren’t caring for them when they had them!

And, again, Care Credit! I don't think they deny anyone credit, and we're only talking about $200 or so for spaying. These folks just didn't bother trying at all and would've probably been too lazy to take the dog to an appointment anyway.
