"They killed her and the baby," said Erica Bader's stepmother, Crystal Smith, in an interview with local NBC affiliate WJAR. "They should be ashamed of themselves for what they've done," Smith said.

Bader's family says she was attacked, raped and murdered in Central Falls by members of the group who are currently charged in connection with the 24-year-old's death, according to The Boston Globe. Five individuals have been charged with murder and kidnapping, while the three others are charged with kidnapping, conspiracy, and failure to report a death. Bader's body was found in the woods of Pawtucket on Oct. 27.
The suspects charged with murder have been identified as Andrew Cornell, 28; Joshua Brunelle, 35; Elizabeth Durand, 41; Stephanie Bletzer, 37; and Brittney Terpening, 34. The others are Christopher Kordalewski, 22; Joanne Miller, 26; and Cheryl Blakely, 36.
Bader's stepmother told WJAR that Bader did not know her alleged killers until she started staying with them at a home in Central Falls. "They're just random people," Smith said. "They were like total strangers to her."
The family says Bader had been abused at the home and tried to move out, but was forced to stay by the suspects. "She tried to run away one time, she didn't get far," Smith alleged. "They dragged her in, pulled her in that house and held her hostage, basically."
A welfare check was conducted at the home in Central Falls where Bader was staying in April, but she was not at the residence. It's unclear when she was killed exactly. A search of the home in early November led to 46 cats and four dogs being removed due to bad living conditions, according to local officials.

It always seems so wild to me when whole groups decide to murder someone, especially a pregnant woman.
8 adults, all with different last names, 46 cats, 4 dogs, and she went to live with them as a perfect stranger?

I think there's a word not being said here, and that word is "drugs".
Yeah, if it was maybe just a couple of weirdos I might would think mental health issues could be possible as well, but her staying there and ALL of them being arrested, it was drugs.
I try not to judge. I mean, looking back at what I did when using as a teen/in early 20's, I'm surprised I didn't get myself killed. Living with strangers just because they had air conditioning, my best friend and I living with people in their mid 30's who were hoarders and violent, riding on a motorcycle with a guy who downed 2 bottles of Everclear a day and even risking Hep C when needles got mixed up, including some from a man diagnosed, even though I just saw my dad die a horrible hep C related death. Drugs and youth together will make you a total idiot.
However, being pregnant adds a huge responsibility. You agree to it the second you decide not to terminate. There can be sympathy, but can't be any excuses when you are responsible for another being.

It does not say how far along she was in her pregnancy.

Not that it excuses her being murdered but if she was visibly pregnant and dong drugs with these people they are probably going to value her unborn child as much as she did - which was not very much.

Looks like Antifa unmasked! You can bet these are some of the same people who were burning, looting and murdering back in 2020! Now their ugliness has come to a head and they are being held accountable.
