ASHLAND, KY (WOWK) – A now-former Ashland Independent Schools bus driver has been charged in a child pornography investigation.
According to Kentucky State Police, Jeremy Irvin, 30, of Greenup, Kentucky, was arrested after a search warrant at his home on Monday, Dec. 16. KSP says the investigation began when the Ashland Police Department gave KSP text messages allegedly from Irvin that were “soliciting explicit images from the minor.”
KSP officials say during the search warrant Monday, authorities seized equipment that was allegedly used to commit the crime and took it to a forensic lab to be examined. Troopers say they have reason to believe additional juveniles may also have been involved.
Irvin faces multiple charges of possession of matter portraying a minor under the age of 12 in a sexual performance and a charge of promoting a minor under the age of 12 in a sexual performance.
According to KSP, possession of matter portraying a minor under the age of 12 in a sexual performance is a Class-C felony, which is punishable by five to 10 years in prison if convicted. Promoting a minor under the age of 12 in a sexual performance is a Class B felony punishable by 10-20 years in prison, KSP says.
