The man convicted of murdering a two-year-old girl will spend the next 35 years in prison.
Randy Lee Roden was convicted of murder by abuse by neglect and maltreatment and some assault and criminal mistreatment charges, according to his criminal defense attorney Conor Huseby. But he was acquitted of aggravated murder and some sex crimes.
Evangelina Wing died of blunt force trauma in 2014, according to Seaside police.
Roden was the live-in boyfriend of Wing's mother, Dorothy. When emergency responders arrived at Wing's home in Seaside Dec. 20, 2014, they found her 2-year-old daughter in full rigor mortis with bruises and injuries all over her body.
Dorothy Wing eventually pleaded not guilty to 8 charges: one count of murder by abuse, first-degree manslaughter, and six counts of criminal mistreatment. She is serving a 15 year prison sentence.
Roden has a long criminal history for which he spent time in prison. He's been charged previously with unlawful sexual penetration, DUII, driving while suspended and attempting to elude.
