While other fast food chains are rushing to launch meatless and plant-based options, Dunkin’ Donuts went in the opposite direction and released the ultimate snack for meat lovers.

Starting today, Snackin’ Bacon will be available at Dunkin’ restaurants nationwide.

What’s that, you wonder? It’s just like it sounds: Eight half-strips of bacon wrapped up in a sleeve.
“Here at Dunkin’, we’ve been working hard to formulate the perfect afternoon pick-me-up and really, what’s better than a bag full of bacon?” the company said in a blog post.

Dunkin’ wants you to know that it’s not just any ordinary bacon. It’s high-end bacon that’s been smoked with natural cherrywood. It’s then treated to a sweet and savory blend of brown sugar and black pepper seasoning.

At Dunkin’, we believe the best way to enjoy bacon is simple: eat it.”

Rolling your eyes at bacon is a mortal sin.

I stand by my eye roll.

Generally when I'm buying food out in public that's pre-made, it's something that I can't do at home or can't be bothered to do at home. Bacon on its own does not come under that heading by any way shape or form of description.

Honestly how difficult is it to open up a package of bacon and cook it. We're not talking haute cuisine here.
I love bacon, but this presentation is just silly.
Now if you will excuse me I am going to try some bacon because that is completely coincidental.
Nom, nom, nom!

I've gotten some maple glazed doughnuts with bacon crumbled on them. I don't know if rashers or crumbles are better.

I like a third alternative best... chopped bacon. Strips can be hard to take a bite of without dragging the whole strip off the donut, and crumbles don't really look much like bacon anymore. For the best visual and easy eating, chopped is the way to go.
