Elizabeth LynnLanor Hogan, 27, and Devin Austin Brown-Fowler, 34, stand accused of one count each of child abuse in the second degree, child abuse in the third degree, and child abuse in the fourth degree, according to the Oceana County Sheriff's Office.
The underlying incident is several months old.

On May 4, shortly before 8 p.m., law enforcement arrived at the couple's residence in Greenwood Township, Michigan.

There, responding sheriff's deputies found 7-month-old Maverick Lyle Bouck. The baby boy was dead; at the time, details were scarce.
"He had three skull fractures, three broken ribs and a brain bleed — he passed from the brain bleed," the child's grandmother – and the female defendant's mother – told the County Press.

The boy's grandmother went on to lay more of the blame at her daughter's feet, as opposed to similar culpability for the boyfriend, due to one of the skull fractures being an "older fracture."
The defendants are not currently facing homicide charges.

A West Michigan infant sustained multiple fractures and was given marijuana prior to his drowning death, according to new court documents obtained by 13 ON YOUR SIDE. But homicide is not one of the charges against the two people who had custody of him at the time of his death.
Elizabeth Hogan and her boyfriend, Devin Brown-Fowler, are both charged with three child abuse counts in Maverick Bouck’s death: second, third, and fourth degree.

Maverick Bouck was only 7 months old on May 4, 2025, when he drowned to death. Hogan had custody of Maverick at the time.
When detectives arrived on the scene, they noted some concerns after looking at Maverick. They noted bruising on top of the infant’s head in his hairline and a soft spot on his head that was toward the front of his head, near his hairline on his forehead. That is not a normal location for a soft spot for an infant, according to the detective.

They also noticed there were fingernail scratches on Maverick’s bottom and a concerning rash.

After interviewing Brown-Fowler, detectives say he admitted to leaving the infant alone in the bath and walking away. When he went back to the tub, Maverick was face down in five to six inches of water.
After finding Maverick, detectives say he removed Maverick from the tub, dressed him, and placed him in the crib before calling 911.

When detectives interviewed Hogan, she said the scratches on Maverick’s bottom were due to her fake nails when she went to wipe him. She also said that he had “really bad diaper rash” that they were trying to take care of.
After months of autopsy, it was determined that Maverick had numerous skull fractures, both in the front and back of his skull, with five of those being on the back. He also had brain bleeding and multiple rib fractures.

All of the fractures, to both the skull and ribs, were in various stages of healing and “were pretty significant.”

Maverick also had pneumonia at the time of his death. They also found water in the lungs, which is consistent with being found face down in the tub.
The infant was also high for THC, which was found in his system.

They then did a follow-up interview with Hogan. She ultimately told detectives that the THC came from Brown-Fowler.
She said the pair gave Maverick the marijuana when he was fussy to calm him down, and that they had given it to him within 24 hours of the night of his death.

Around four days before Maverick’s death, Hogan told detectives that she lifted Maverick from the bathtub, but he slipped out of her hands. Maverick fell headfirst into the bathtub, hitting his head on the bottom.

Hogan did not seek medical treatment for Maverick after he hit his head.
Hogan also told detectives that around two days before Maverick’s death, she had tripped and fallen while holding him. She had Maverick cradled in her chest and fell on top of him when she tripped.

During the fall, the court documents say Maverick developed a large bruise on the front of his head and that he was very fussy.

Hogan did not seek medical treatment for Maverick after the fall.

The charges need to be upgraded!

Cases like this deserve the death penalty... these two pieces of shit are not worthy of breathing air.
