A man shot and killed his wife and 8-year-old son before killing himself at a Oroville home, the Butte County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.
Investigators determined that a domestic dispute within the past two weeks led Francesco Milone, 32, to shoot Kaela Steele, 30, and their son, Franklin Milone, before taking his own life.

Deputies found the bodies Tuesday night in a home on Yellow Hammer Drive after receiving a call from Steele's brother, who said he hadn't seen her in more than a week.
The man told authorities there was a smell coming from his sister's home. Before deputies arrived, the man called back, saying he could see his sister on the floor of the home.
The man also told authorities that there was a smell coming from the driveway, and before deputies arrived, he called back to say that he could see his sister's body lying on the floor.
