State investigators have arrested a North Georgia couple accused of trying to persuade a woman to give them her baby in exchange for a car.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested Rebecca McClain and her husband William as authorities executed a search warrant of their home in Blue Ridge.

According to the report, the McClains had been taking care of the 10-month-old child for several weeks, and wanted to adopt the child.

The GBI says Rebecca is a former employee of Union County Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), and apparently she learned about the child through her position.

Investigators say they found the child in good condition, and taken into custody by DFCS to be placed in foster care for now.

According to Georgia law, it is illegal to "directly or indirectly hold out inducements to parents to part with their children."

I'm angry about this:
. The GBI says Rebecca is a former employee of Union County Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), and apparently she learned about the child through her position.

As far as them offering her a car for the baby ( I know it's against the law)
Maybe that would be best for the baby and best for the bio mom.

If you're even considering that deal as a parent? It's probably a trade that should be finalized and faxed into the league for the sake of the child. Sometimes sports teams trade away icons so they can chase a ring because it's in the best interest of the player! So why can't this baby be swapped to chase a life?

I probably wouldn't trade my kids, but for arguments sake? If I was being offered 10 years back, a first round draft selection in my league of choice, oh and I don't know... Some actual athletic prowess? I'd probably have to at least "consider" it...
