"A part-time Verona police officer who was suspended last week due to charges that he inappropriately engaged with a 16-year-old boy after the two met on online, was officially fired during a borough council meeting Tuesday night.

The Verona Borough Council voted unanimously to terminate 34-year-old Anthony Ogline, Post-Gazette news partner KDKA-TV reported. Police said Mr. Ogline provided the boy alcohol and marijuana and exchanged naked pictures with him after the two met on Grindr, a gay dating app, according to a criminal complaint.

Mr. Ogline was arrested last Wednesday after police found him with the teen on Jan. 17 — a day after the officer picked up the alleged victim at school in the middle of the day, alarming school officials and leading them to call police.

He is charged with unlawful contact with a minor, possession of child pornography, criminal use of a communications facility, corruption of minors, tampering with evidence and furnishing alcohol to a minor."

On Jan. 16, Whitehall police were investigating after a 16-year-old boy walked away from his school at midday and got into a black sedan.
Police tracked the boy's location to an address in Verona borough Jan. 17. According to the criminal complaint, the address was owned by Ogline, a Verona borough police officer.
Ogline said he did provide alcohol to the teen, but denied smoking marijuana and said he would consent to a drug test to prove that.
The boy said he told Ogline that he was 17 years old and Ogline said, "That's OK consent is 16 years old." Ogline allegedly requested naked pictures from the boy and sent him naked photos.
According to court papers, Ogline told the boy he could stay with him for a few days sowhen he picked him up from school.
The boy told police that while they were at Ogline's house, they watched movies, sat in front of the fire, drank alcohol and smoked marijuana. Ogline allegedly served the boy mojitos and four shots.
According to the criminal complaint, Ogline then kissed and performed sex acts on the boy before he fell asleep.
Because the age of consent is 16.. he'll plead to some bullshit charges and end up with probation.. biggest effect on his life.. he lost a 'part-time' job...

A former Verona police officer pleaded guilty in connection with accusations that he gave a 16-year-old boy alcohol and marijuana in addition to exchanging pornographic images with him.

The investigation into Anthony Ogline, who had worked as a part-time officer there since 2015, started in January when the boy from Whitehall left school in the middle of the day and got into what turned out to be Ogline’s car on Jan. 16.
A few weeks after the investigation started, Ogline was fired via a unanimous vote by the borough’s council.
On Oct. 29, District Attorney Mike Manko said Ogline pleaded guilty to one count of corruption of minors and one count of furnishing alcohol to minors. In exchange for the plea, all remaining charges were withdrawn by the DA’s office.

Judge Jill Rangos sentenced Ogline to 18 months probation.
According to court documents, Ogline met the 16-year-old on the dating app Grindr and met him in person for the first time about three weeks ago. The teen told Ogline on the app that he was 17 years old, to which Ogline allegedly replied, “That’s OK. Consent is 16 years old.”

But the age of consent in Pennsylvania is actually 18 if one person involved in the relationship is over 18 years old.
