Hope is the thing with feathers.
A Utah couple is accused of locking their adoptive son in a small basement and forcing him to eat carrots.

Clarissa Anne Tobiasson, 27, and her husband Brett Parker Tobiasson, 31, were arrested after a police investigation revealed that the couple's adopted 6-year-old son was allegedly forced to live in horrifying conditions. Police believe the alleged abuse began when the child was 5.

According to the Utah County Sheriff's Office, the little boy would be locked in a room in the basement of the Eagle Mountain home from 6:00 or 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 in the morning.

The only thing the child had in the room was a mattress and blanket to sleep on. Authorities said there was no electricity in the room and nowhere for the child to go to the bathroom.

"The boy described that he would go to the bathroom while in the room and put the waste in a hole in a wall so he would not get in trouble," a press release from the sheriff's office stated.

Investigators also learned that the child was fed a diet that "consisted largely of carrots."

The parents would allegedly make the boy eat carrots before every meal and if he did not finish the vegetable in a certain amount of time, he wasn't allowed to eat anything else.

A witness who stayed at the home for a few days told investigators that one night she brought pizza for dinner but the couple would not let their son eat any until he finished his carrots, Fox 8 reports.

(UTAH COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE)
The parents allegedly gave the child 15 minutes to eat the carrots and when he couldn't finish in time they refused to give him pizza.

The woman told authorities that her stay at the house was the "worst four days of her life," and she had noticed that the little boy had a "orangey" tint to his skin.

"In another instance he was disciplined for eating samples at a local store when he knew he was supposed to eat carrots before eating anything else," police said.

The couple also adopted the boy's 2-year-old brother and they have a 2-month-old child of their own.

The little boy is now in the care of his grandmother, while the other two children are in the custody of the Division of Child and Family Services.

So instead doing something about it, you make it all about you. How awful that four days must've been for YOU. Not for the child. For YOU.

Fuck off. I'm sorry, that really pisses me off. This kid was treated like absolute garbage and this bitch is whining about how it was the worst four days of HER life.

I would go harder on all about YOU lady too ... but I bet she is the one that spoke up and saved the boy ... probably thought if this is bad for me it must be Hell for him and then did something about it, on account that she told authorities about her horrible four day stay and not I don't know ... anyone else that would listen but actual cops who ultimately intervened.

but I bet she is the one that spoke up and saved the boy ...

If it is revealed she is the one who turned them in, I will partially retract my statement. In that I still think it's fucked up to go about how bad it was for her. But thank you for turning them in.

Until then, she's a bitch.

It says she told authorities about her horrible four day stay ... And you don't have to retract anything ... Like you can if you want ... but my remarks weren't trying to prod you in that direction or anything ... I'm just assuming she didn't go to the police to report a horrible four day stay, and that she was reporting or at the police station at all on behalf of the little orange boy.

Poor kid ... No pizza for you ... you didn't eat your carrots.
That's fucking heart breaking. Hiding shit in the wall cause you know you're going to get in trouble if you shit at all ... sick. People are fuckign mean.

She may have made many statements about the victim, but the only statement the newspaper chose to quote is that "worst days" statement. Don't waste energy on this woman when so many deserve more contempt. :rage:

I thought that was a myth, turning orange.
A coworker took her one year old baby for a checkup. The doctor asked mom, "You feed him a lot of carrots and yams?" She said yes, baby loved it. He said he could tell because the boy had an orange tinge.
She asked if she was feeding too much and the doctor said it was not a problem because the child was in good health.

They are evil. It's like they thought of anyway possible to torture that child

<3 yeah, I'm sure he probably hated them, & they thought it was fun to watch him try to eat them all up in time to get something he liked better.

ETA: I'd never make him eat a carrot again if he didn't want to.

Why?
So grandmother can deprogram him?
:shifty:

Can we feed both of them pure shit until they turn blue and die?
In special circumstances such as what these 2 parents of the year did... the eye for a eye should be allowed. It really should be! I really do wish it would be but of course that is not going to happen.. what will happen is
they will get some bullshit sentence where they will get 3 meals a day... 3 meals that are a variety of foods and not just fucking carrots. They will have a toilet to go in and not have to put it in a hole in the wall!! What they did to that little boy.. no prison sentence is satisfying in my eyes.
