A 15-year-old girl in
China was alleged forced into prostitution by six other teenagers before being beaten to death by them, according to Chinese media.
It is claimed that the schoolgirl from Shenmu city was forced to receive a customer by the underage suspects on September 23 in a hotel, but the customer who was referred to as 'an uncle' was not satisfied with the girl's 'service'.
The girl was then said to be beaten by the suspects with belts, fists and bricks for a few hours until she died. The suspects then dismembered the girl before burying her remains, accounts claim.
The shocking case was first exposed on social media by a local blogger last Thursday before being investigated by Chinese national news sites.
A spokesperson from the Shenmu Public Bureau told Beijing-based news site
Btime.com on Friday that the descriptions in the social media posts were largely true, but the case was still being investigated.
A report from
BJ News yesterday also confirmed the claims after speaking to the victim's parents. The report said the girl's parents, who had been looking for her for two months, were told the situation by the Shenmu police last week.
In an official statement today, Shenmu government confirmed that a female middle-school student had been murdered and six suspects, all under 18 years old, had been detained. The statement did not reveal further details.
According to The Paper, the body was discovered after four of the suspects took the police to the site where they had buried the victim's remains.
The victim's parents have undergone a DNA test and are waiting for a report to see if the corpse in question did belong to their child.
