JERSEY SHORE, Pa– Troopers say 20-year-old Brandon Hoffman was “recklessly wrestling playing’ with his girlfriend’s 18 month old son. Hoffman used a professional wrestling move called “The Last Ride” but instead of slamming him on the bed, police say he missed and the boy hit the hardwood floor.
The child died from his injuries, and Hoffman is now facing charges, including involuntary manslaughter.
It happened on Tuesday in an apartment in Lycoming County that is shared by the couple, Hoffman’s sister, and her boyfriend Lonnie Stewart.
Stewart told WNEP, “He came to me like I don’t know what happened. I dropped him. He was like real hysterical and everything.”
Hoffman was watching the child while the toddler’s mother was at work, according to troopers.
Stewart said, “He was trying to resuscitate him, give him mouth to mouth and that’s when I was first like something is wrong.”
The child was taken to the hospital, and later died.
Hoffman’s friends and family are calling the toddler’s death a horrible accident.
Hoffman’s sister spoke to the child’s mother, and says that she too believes he would not have hurt the child on purpose.

I'm left speechless, really. In what universe are wrestling moves on an 18 month old even a thought that goes through someone's mind?

Apparently, the Lionel Tate case taught us nothing and has simply faded away into historical oblivion with the rest of them, but, I'm guessing his story's a bullshit cover, too.

For anyone who has not had the displeasure of dating or having kids with a full grown manchild who likes WWE. This shit happens more then one would care to think possible. This stuff is exactly why I never trusted my ex with my kids when they were young. He'd try and "wrestle" them. I had many arguments over why you can't wrestle a toddler with him. He even posted this gem on his facebook the other day as a throwback memory from when our kids were small  (not my ex or kids in the video).

Some people just don't seem to know the line of what you can and can't do with small children. It's like watching videos of parents tossing a baby, who can't even hold it's head up, in the air and catching them, or them slipping through their hands. The fact that a lot of people treat children as toy dolls for "fun" is more than slightly disturbing.

In a statement Thursday, World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., in Stamford, Connecticut, said that "blaming a wrestling maneuver is a flimsy excuse for reckless behavior."

"There is no excuse for a 20-year-old grown man to behave in this manner with an 18-month-old child. The death of Bryson Shoemaker is a tragedy, and WWE offers its condolences to the child's mother, Sierra Shoemaker," WWE said.
They said it a lot better than I could and with a lot less foul language. All I can think to say is: what 20y/o brain damaged individual would think it was ok to treat a child in this manner? It's a baby for fucks sake not a damn doll.
If this is idea of playtime he should do well in jail. Although I'm sure he'll be the victim this time around.

I could believe that he was wrestling, some guys that age are immature my brother would wrestle with my kids rough and I would get pissed and make him stop and he was rough with his kids too. My kids father would toss them in the air and catch them it would freak me out, the kids thought it was fun. I could see it happening the way he said.

Thanks for the video! I'm fully aware of the frequency of boyfriends murdering the (non-related) children of their girlfriends, but something about this case made me think maybe this really was just an extremely stupid mistake with about the worst imaginable outcome.

Can you bitches PLEASE stop leaving your babies with your dick of the week to "accidently" kill. PLEASE!
So with u on that one!!! Men are not wired to be caregiver s for little ones ESPECIALLY when they r NOT their children but hell nowadays that doesn't even seem to matter!

My ex husband was big into playing rough with my son, (Step-son, but will always be MY son). I hated it and it scared me, this is why. He was only 2 when we met. The boy would be in tears sometimes, but my ex was "toughening him up." Left him after I came home from work one night and the kids had huge welts. Wish I could have taken my son with me.:(

A Dad wrestling with his sons and daughters is supposed to be good for them. The physical bonding builds confidence, strengthens affection. I recently read that in a parental advice column.
Of course, it's supposed to be friendly "wrassling", not re-enacting WWE moves!
This does sound like a terribly stupid accident.

Why is it that "the childs mother is always at work" Don't these chicks get that they don't need these men??? Unless of course they don't know how to BBQ... Thats the only thing I can think of... He could BBQ and she couldn't.

Really Jury?!

A man charged in connection with the death of an 18-month-old in Lycoming County was found not guilty on all counts on Monday.

Brandon Hoffman of Jersey Shore was charged with involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment last year.

Investigators say he was wrestling with his girlfriend’s son and intended to throw the toddler onto a bed, but missed.
