A landlord was cleaning the house Saturday when he found a concrete structure and noticed an odor coming from it.

Police removed the structure and discovered the remains of a 3-year-old boy inside.

An Associated Press reporter has left phone and email messages with Wichita police for information about the structure.

Police say a 40-year-old man and 36-year-old woman who lived at the home were arrested last week on separate charges associated with a child custody case. Both are being held in the Sedgwick County Jail.

Police say they have tentatively identified the child.

So to win they killed him.
:(

If they were arrested on a different charge related to child custody or mistreatment of a child, that means their scumbaggery and danger was known to authorities and authorities failed to protect this kid.

DCF and the courts failing to protect a child? Whoever heard of such a thing?

Remains found encased in concrete in a Kansas home may be that of a missing 3-year-old boy.
(Kansas Missing Report)

A neighbor described the structure that boy was found in as a small coffin that was “very heavy.”

“I hate to say it, but it looked like a small coffin. Cause it was like the size of a toddler bed. But very heavy,” the neighbor told the station. “(It) took a forklift to get it out of the house.”

An attorney for the boy’s father, Carlo Brewer, told KWCH, "We have known this child has been missing for months at that location and it was a 3-year-old's body that was found.”

Bodine, 40, was also arrested for aggravated assault. In July, the father tried getting a court order to protect Evan from Bodine, the station reported citing court documents.

Surprise surprise moms boyfriend is the main suspect. Dad tried to get a court order preventing the loser from being around his son and the kid goes missing. Obviously he suspected abuse. There is a lot more to this story we are not hearing yet. Were the authorities involved? What are these other charges from a custody case? Fuck me is this another child who "slipped through the cracks"?

The mom is as responsible. If dad knew something was wrong mom certainly did too. Ignoring it is fucking weak and sickens me. She had to know he was in the structure. How the fuck did she live in the house with her dead child in a concrete block? WTF is wrong with these people.

Now that I'm done ranting, I will be watching this story for updates. I know there is a lot more to this story.

So the little guy was actually reported as missing in the last couple weeks....wonder if he was already in the concrete when that was going on, you'd think the police would have already found him otherwise :(

http://www.kansas.com/news/local/crime/article171198457.html

A few people who live near the home on South Vine where the body of a 3-year-old boy was found Saturday said they never saw the child and didn’t know the people who lived there.

They did come home one day about two weeks ago to missing child fliers attached to their cars. Then soon after that, neighbor Toni Freund said she saw 30 to 40 people protesting outside the house.

“They were just saying, ‘Bring him home,’” she said Monday.

Freund never saw the child. Neither did Kathy Niblack or Richard Kathey, who all live within eyesight of the house. Now they’re left trying to understand what happened.

I think this is related. They killed him then reported him missing. They had to cause bio dad was in the picture and they needed to explain where he was. We don't know where the concrete was found. It might not have been easily apparent. The landlord found it while cleaning so he was probably in the house longer than the cops to notice.

I'm wondering what kind of shitty concrete they used. If encased properly in good concrete, three would have been no odor. They must have used the bag's you mix yourself, and in that case, why did they do it in the house. Haul 50 gallons out to the woods back of your truck, mix and encase, and he wouldn't have been found.

I'm glad they are such morons.

Apparently he's been missing since July :(

The residents of the house, Miranda Miller and Stephen Bodine, are currently being held in Sedgwick County Jail on charges related to a child custody case. They were arrested last week prior to the discovery of the body.

Miller's son, Even Brewer, has been missing since at least early July, according to flyers that had been posted around the couple's neighborhood. An attorney for Evan Brewer's father, Carlo Brewer, says Evan was living with his mother, Miller, and Bodine, her boyfriend, at the time of his disappearance.

Carlo Brewer's attorney says the father is anxiously waiting for the Sedgwick County Medical Examiner to identify the child's body.

Court documents show Carlo Brewer tried to get a court order to protect Evan from Bodine in July.

Mom's DOTM killed this adorable little boy just so his father couldn't have him. Mom went right along with it. This little guy didn't stand a chance.

A mother and her boyfriend were hit with murder and child abuse charges on Monday, in connection to the death of the woman's three-year-old son.
[....]
His mother Miranda Miller, 36, and her boyfriend Stephen Bodine, 40, were arrested a few days before the body was discovered, on other charges. They have remained behind bars since then.

On Monday, the couple were hit with new charges of felony murder and child abuse in connection to Evan's death.

Evan was the son of Kansas gubernatorial candidate Carl Brewer, who issued a statement on Monday thanking all the 'men and women who worked to investigate Evan's death'.

A family spokesman released another statement, reading: 'Our family sincerely appreciates the efforts of our Homicide Unit to piece together the difficult investigation into Evan's death ... . We also thank the Wichita community for the continued support and love ... . Please understand our silence during the remainder of this holiday season as they prepare for a funeral and a Christmas without Evan.'
[....]
A few days before her son's body was found, Miller was arrested on a charge of aggravated interference with parental custody.

Her boyfriend faced additional charges for threatening the boy's biological father with a hatchet, when the man came to the couple's rental home looking for Evan.

Both remain in jail on $25,000 bond.

How stupid do you have to be to permanently encase the body of someone you murdered into a concrete block so heavy it takes a forklift to move it, inside a house you are only renting?!?!

:fish:

Just about that stupid.

Among the photographs and videos which police found after their arrest is one which allegedly shows his mother spanking his bare buttocks in a bed, shouting at him for moving around.

Another allegedly shows Evan standing naked with a chain around his neck, standing on a piece of cardboard on top of wooden pallets.

One photographs how him standing naked with a belt tied around his neck.

In other footage, Bodine can allegedly be heard shouting: 'Here you go tough smart guy. Think you can hear me coming now? Think you are so smart? Bet you you're not.'

In others, Evan appears naked in the same small room as Bodine shouts at him: 'I'm f***** sick of you. You're going to lose everything.'

In addition to the first reference of the photographs, their arrest affidavits also reveal the long timeline of alleged abuse which led up to the discovery of Evan's body.

Evan was last seen alive by his biological father Carlo Brewer in March 2017 when he saw him with what he thought was a broken nose.

When he asked Miller if she had been abusing him or if Bodine had, she lashed out and threatened that he would never see the boy again, he claimed.

He told police about it and they tried to contact Miller and Bodine at their home but there was no answer, it is claimed.

It was not until July that Brewer was awarded full time custody of Evan. That is when police began trying to remove him from the care of Bodine and Miller.

They spent a month pinning notices to their front door to tell them to hand the child over but little more was done.

On August 30, the couple told their landlord they were planning to move out and their neighbor called police.

They were arrested on their way out of the home with a U-Haul truck.

Once in custody, they refused to say where Evan was and the pair were held for breaching the custody order.

These two deserve the death penalty in the worst way.

I don’t get it if they didn’t want why not give to his Dad? Then you don’t end up in jail.

The judge was way to late to give the Dad sole custody.

The system totally fucked this kid over. This is my hometown. Word on the street is she didn't want to lose that child support, greedy abusive bitch.

It's amazing how little authorities do in situations like this.

I know of similar situations where cops straight up told a father that it wasnt a criminal matter and he needed to consult a lawyer and handle it in family court after his ex refused to hand the kids over per the court established shared custody agreement.

If the State isnt involved, if rights dont get terminated, there's really nothing that can be done. Parents(usually the mother, and certainly whoever currently has custody-physical or legal at the time) have ALL the power. It's incredible how much control they retain over a situation like this, and the State bends over, spreads wide, and begs them to exert that control to the fullest extent possible. Deadbeat and neglectful parents fucking OWN the govt, absolutely no denying that.

ALl the more tragic that we have a rare case where the bio dad actually appears to have done the right thing and it still didnt help. He noticed kid was hurt, he tried getting cops involved, he brought matters to family court(or perhaps CPS did? I'd hope not since the kid wasnt immediately pulled from the home), and won custody. There's nothing else you can do barring committing a crime yourself. There's sooo many stories on here where family members suspect or even know for a fact that abuse is occurring, yet they do jackshit, then they whine and cry after the kid is murdered. Not so here, but the govt stepped in and said, "we dont value this childs safety enough to put the hammer down and step in, we coudnt be bothered to do more thhan write a few notes and stick em on a door. Fuck this kid".

Sickening. The dad should be looking into the possibility of civil action against the state here, or at least the dept handling this shitshow.

May not have been on the judge. If the cops and/or CPS investigated(and i would hope both did, the article is fucking trash on info) and found no evidence of abuse, there's nothing anyone can do unless they have the money for a lawyer. Not everyone has money for a lawyer, that shit is expensive. The dad may have taken some time to afford to hire one, which is a necessity if you want to challenge a custody arrangement/agreement and get shit changed or seek to terminate a parents rights.

Then after you get that lawyer, you still have to wait on a court date, which could have extended shit another month. They dont just do family court shit any and every day, not most counties they dont.

If CPS did get involved, they wont just terminate rights right off the bat. Parents are afforded every single saving grace and opportunity in the fucking world to get their act together, so that woulda took significant time too, even for someone who right of the gate is obviously not a good parent and shows zero interest in becoming one.

Really need more info on this and on the investgiations into abuse(if there were any). NO matter what though, it makes perfect sense why the dad could notice abuse in march yet not win custody until fucking july. Id be mindblown if it happened sooner honestly.

Somehow I’m not blown away by this tidbit. Sadly.

Anything else you care to share with us?

There is a video floating around of the dad going to these pieces of shits' house demanding to see Evan where Bodine threatens him and slashes his tire. I'll try and link that.
CPS and the cops never made contact, they would never answer the door.
