Emily is also from WV and a personal friend of mine. So many kids, and especially girls look up to her. This is so sad and disgusting!

Blue Origin was forced to yank down a clip of astronaut Emily Calandrelli’s candid reaction to being in space after the post was attacked by misogynistic internet trolls.

Calandrelli, 37 — a TV science program host and aerospace engineer who became the 100th woman in space Friday aboard one of the company’s ships — said she was brought to tears by critics of the short video, which showed her floating upside down in zero gravity as she stared out at Earth from a window.

“That’s our planet. Oh my God, this is space,” Calandrelli reflected, full of emotion, in the clip.

Almost immediately, thousands of hateful Netizens posted offensive comments targeting her, including even about her looks, according to the Daily Mail.

“It’s not an achievement being a woman,” a user wrote about the standout MIT grad.

Another man posted, “Would you consider yourself the hottest woman to ever go to space? Any other contenders?”

One person added, “why she moaning I cannot unhear it.”

The responses were so hurtful that Calandrelli, instead of basking in her historic feat aboard billionaire Jeff Bezos’ Origin spacecraft, said in on Instagram on Monday that she was in tears flying home after the mission.

“This all happened as I was flying home after experiencing the most perfect, wonderful dream-achieving experience of my life,” she wrote. “And instead of being on cloud nine, I’m crying in my seat staring out the window. Because of course this happened. Of course I should have expected this.”

I don't know anything about this latest distraction from real issues facing humanity; but, if that snap of her face is any indication, she is the hottest lady astronaut yet.

Someday, some broad doing something impressive is going to respond to some soyfag incel pindicked detractor, not with stupid, stereotype-affirming baby girl tears, nor with feminazi slogan screeching; but with calm, cool, collected, self-possessed, wise old mama bear wisdom, by saying thank you for your kind compliment on my looks, and thank you for your interest in this private-enterprise space program.

But not yet.

P.S.: No one was "forced" to do anything. We are sentient beings, who make the world with our thoughts, as Buddha said. Stop pretending to helpless victimhood.

Bitter jealous assholes with empty lives and empty futures. Why was the first female President SO important, yet the 100th woman in space is not? It has taken 61 years to achieve this feat. Let the woman have her moment dammit, she EARNED it... And my sister and I had those same faces on when we flew over the North Pole back in September of 1982. So fuck off to the jokers that maligned this woman so badly, wonder is wonder, and it's awesome to experience... :shifty:

They are just jealous because they'd never even get within a 1000 miles of the launchpad, never mind into space.

Your tearful reaction is exactly what they wanted, I never give bullies what they want, because they'll keep coming back for more.

I used to care what people thought of me and had second thoughts before I did most everything. But now, what I say is FUCK 'EM, life is too short, if they don't like me or what I'm doing, FUCK 'EM, I don't care.

It doesn't matter if you're the 100th woman in space, or the 10th woman, or the 10th man. If it's your first time in space, that's f*cking cool. That's life-changing, a rare and special experience that few human beings have ever been part of. So f*ck these jerkwads trying to ruin it for her.
