Babysitting Neighbor Charged In Sexual Assault And Murder Of 3-Year-Old In His Care

"Andrew Buster, 33, was arrested Monday and charged with murder and sodomy for allegedly assaulting and killing Lillyann Grace Reck.

Police in Lexington had been called to an apartment on Dec. 10, 2018, for an “unresponsive child.”

Lillyann was taken to the hospital but died a few days later, reported WKYT-TV. Police told the station the arrest was awaiting DNA evidence.

Buster is being held in the Fayette County Detention Center on $1 million bond, WKYT said.

Police have revealed few details of the toddler’s death. Her father, Joshua Reck, told police at the time that he had not seen his daughter in a year due to “custody issues” but that the girl’s mother and her husband had left the child with Buster while they went to work, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported.

He’d been working in Texas when the call came that she was in the hospital, and rushed to be by her side."

37-year-old Andrew Charles Buster Jr. was sentenced to 40 years in prison for the sexual assault of a 3-year-old girl.

The incident occurred in 2018.

According to police, then-33-year-old Buster Jr. sexually assaulted Lillyann Grace Reck on Dec. 10, 2018.

Buster Jr. was a family acquaintance who was watching Reck while her mother was at work, according to police.

Lillyann’s father, Josh Reck, spoke directly to Buster Jr. and said, “Look at yourself in the mirror, son, you are nobody in this world, you’re never gonna be. Your own children don’t deserve you. The only thing you deserve is to be put in the ground.”

In addition to his 40-year sentence, Buster Jr. will be required to register as a sex offender if released.

The judge also ordered a 10-year, renewable IPO on behalf of Buster Jr.’s teenage relative, who alleged that Buster Jr. sexually abused her as a toddler.
