Social media posts showing cruelty against animals and being used to extort the public for money are now under investigation by authorities in Loudoun County, Virginia.

Loudoun County Animal Services, working with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, announced Friday that it is looking into “the posting of videos and photographs portraying graphic and disturbing acts of animal torture on Instagram.”

Officials said that the person who is posting the videos is seen committing heinous acts of animal cruelty. Whoever is posting the videos is also demanding that viewers send them money in order to prevent more acts of torture.

Authorities said IP addresses associated with the videos show that the incidents of cruelty took place around Ashburn, Virginia; however, officials concluded that the torturous acts originated outside of the country.

Loudoun County officials said it has no authority to prosecute animal cruelty cases that occur outside the U.S., but the county will notify the nearest authorities once they find out where the videos were produced.

Am I the only one who thinks Officials/Authorities are engaged in throwing a plate of spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks?

The individual beating the animals is not necessarily the one filming the cruelty, and neither one is necessarily the person posting it. Added to that, the IP address the videos were posted from does not necessarily have anything at all to do with where the videos were created.

They didn't give all that much info but to me, it sounds like some dipshit in Virginia may have acquired these videos and simply has a stash of them, and is pretending this shit is ongoing so he can try to get money, and the filming locations contain clues proving that the abuse did not happen in USA.

The animal abuse incidents in the videos could in fact be long-finished, and maybe even those animals already deceased. Regardless, it would be ideal find the fucks who did it, wherever they are, because they could still be doing more either to those animals or different ones. But there are a few countries where not much of a fuck is given about animal abuse, seen some whacked shit out of Romania for example, but there are others.
